“An efficient last minute booking”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2012

Booked this hotel very last minute on hotels.com and given the price range (very economical) didn't expect much. The complex is very tight and fairly claustrophobic, however, the rooms were surprisingly large.

Location wise, although in Seminyak, not entirely within easy walking distance of bars/restaurants. Nonetheless, taxi drivers new where it was and it's a quick ride to the centre of Seminyak.

And yes, the bacon for breakfast is doubtful ... however, the scrambled eggs were delicious :-)

Room Tip: not sure that any one room is better than the other in this small complex

Had deal through Deals.com. Stayed 5nights 11 Apr - 16 Apr with parents, husband and 2 daughters (10yrs, 18mths). Had interconnecting rooms, single room made in King room. Turned into 10 of the family that stayed at Astana, due to the other 4 had a private villa with noisy building works next door.
Stayed in apartments on ground floor which was great no stairs, also safer for 18mth old, could lock back door to pool area, no balcony worries. Apartments are tucked away, with not much shops etc around, but that was what we were looking for. New resort being built next door.
Don't stress on detail, apartments cleaned daily and comfortable. Kitchen servicable, however, little under supplied (eg cultery, no kettle (need to use small pan), no toaster, no large pot to boil bottles in, bar fridge good.
As previous reviews, yes road lumpy, however, was told should be fixed in next few months. Road not that long and really not that bad. Had breakfast daily and enjoyed the food (just choose different types each day). Staff great, every request they addressed or assistance was given. All you need to do is "Ask them".
Taxis easy to get from Astana just ask reception, Blue bird or Bali taxis way to go. Upon return to Astana, most taxis drivers near where it was. Cheap.
Great Murana Spa down the road from Astana. Sometimes need to book on weekends.
Great Family holiday, will be back.

Room Tip: If you are not to fussy, can over look small deals and what somewhere away from the hussel and busse...

I stayed for 5 days at this villa from April 5th until april 9th. We book single private villa (husband, son 1yr 4mths, and me). It is nice, clean, friendly staff and cozy.. I thought only my family are staying there because so quite, but the next day we saw a lot of couple came out. About 2 times i was found a coccroach accidently fly in to our compound. I think because the villa is just next to a paddy field. But then the staff came to spray for mosquito and insect. Then i safe. ;) Food for english breakfast is quite good. Staff very helpful everytime when we need them. Can borrow adaptor too + free wifi internet ( i bring my own ipad). Have computer too at small cafe, but i have no idea how much to pay. I rented a car because i think the cost to take a cab + time, is better to rent a car. And from the past review, i decided to take a car, and its easy to find this villa + 5-10 min to kuta. If u need them to pick u up from airport, u need to call them a day before u arrive. For me it's a Very nice villa.. My son enjoy it + can experience village mood wt cow and duck from the paddy field. Hope i can have another chance to stay there again.

stayed only 3 days only, thank god. if you like to be in prison this is for you.

breakfast is very poor, and the free internet cost you 30000 for an hour. not for me . i satayed the other 7 days at the all seasons in legian, the staff are great ,cant do enough for you, close to the beach, and all the breakfast you can eat.

Room Tip: bring you own adaptor as they dont have any.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

We stayed at Astana Kunti Apartments for 4 nights (22nd to 26th Feb, 2012)

Our room was upstairs, overlooking to common "lap pool". The pool area had sun lounges and a raised, platform resting area towards the back. It was a good pool to have a bit of a dip in or swim a few laps.

The rooms are lovely and clean and bright. They're air conditioned, have a kitchenette with microwave, two gas burners, implements and a mini-bar. There was no kettle in our room, so we boiled water in a pot for tea.

The bathroom is not very private, so be prepared to get to know your neighbours well. You can hear the neighbours singing in the shower! Because the floor tiles are very glossy and the bathroom doors are like window shutters (with the angled slats), you can see your room-mates having a shower, even with the doors closed. There's no bathroom privacy!

Other than that, this hotel is great value for money!! The location is wonderful, because it is quiet. There is a taxi depot down the street, so whenever you call for a taxi, it always arrives very quickly. The fare into town will be whatever the minimum fare is (eg. Rp 25,000 for one of the Blue Bird taxis). There is a family of cows living down the road. The road is mostly taken up by villa accommodation.

If you don't fancy the included breakfast (served to your room, as the restaurant is too small to accommodate too many people), there's a "Warung" around the corner called "Garasi Warung". They serve Indonesian-style breakfast (eg. Nasi goreng) and sometimes the menu is only in Indonesian. Try anything on the menu, it's all great food. If Indah brings little pots of "Borongko" to the table, give it a try, it's made of milk, butter and banana. Yum!

Overall, Astana Kunti is a lovely place to stay!

Husband and I purchased a Scoopon deal with a private pool villa. Room was lovely, clean and extremely comfortable. Linen and towels replaced on a daily basis. No faults with the room at all. Was quiet. Breaksfast was included with a choice of American, Continental and Indonesian. Hubby ate Indonesian what was a decent serve, I had Continental which was 4 slices toast, small yogurt, jams and honey, tea and juice, so no complaints about breakfast. We ate lunch on our last day, burgers were fantastic! We also dined in one night and the meals were tasty more than sufficient size portion. We never had to wait long for food. Only complaint we had was that they didn't refurbish the tea/coffee/sugar/milk when needed. Staff were very friendly and more than willing to arrange outings for us.
On the downside the location isn't the best to the point that we always caught a taxi (lucky taxi's are so cheap), the road is in dire need of repair.

The hotel clean.. But room size bit small for the "suite type" of hotel it felt cramped. Location is not best and the road is quite bad and no shop , no rest or cafe nearby.. Breakfast is basically not exist as the choice is too limited and it took forever to be served Swimming pool is too smal.. Only fit for max 2 person doing lap..
Plus the price is bit high for this kind of establishment.
Other hotel will offer better value
