Have just returned from Bali and we had 3 fabulous nights at Puri Dana. Most spectacular surroundings and very quiet. Close to shopping and Restaurants. The staff were just wonderful (wanted to bring them home!!) and they were happy to do anything you asked of them. Meals were out of this world. Would highly recommend. We were a party of 8 both Adults and Kids. Nikko's knowledge of the area was also very helpful. Would totally recommend Puri Dana

“Best of an amazing year of traveling”

I had the privilege to see 18 cities and six countries last year. I can say unequivocally, that Puri Dana was the best place I laid my head. The location is perfect to taste the best of Seminyak, walking distance to the beach and KU DE TA.

The owner could not be more connected or knowledgable about the area. From restaurants and nightlife, to resolving serious issues with local and national authorities.

From someone who's stays have ranged from a Shangri-La, to tent in the southern Philippines, this is the complete package!!

“As expected”
Reviewed 21 February 2012 for a stay in December 2011

Puri Dana
was as expected or even better. There were no unpleasant surrises, just a comfortable villa, with enough bedrooms for five couples. A nice pool and great location. Recommended!

“Hidden gem in the most central location”
Reviewed 21 February 2012 for a stay in March 2011

Puri Dana provides a serene stay in the most central location of seminyak. I was looking for a place in Bali where to stay for the first time in order to make sure that I'm able to get the most out of the long weekend that I had planned for quite some time. I came across Puri Dana during my search and boy am I glad that I decided to stay there. This place is a hidden gem in the most central area of seminyak! Also, the staff, service and rooms were much better quality that one would expect based on the affordable room / villa rates. The stay in Puri Dana really made my trip to Bali a forever memorable experience. For anyone looking a place to stay in Bali which is close the literally to everything Puri Dana provides definetly more value for your money than any other villa / resort where i've stayed in Bali. Thumbs up!!!!

“Perfect location”
Reviewed 21 February 2012 for a stay in February 2012

We had the time of our life in Puri Dana. The location is unique, right in the middle but still very private. We thought the service was friendly and rapid.
I think well worth its price over the other resorts surrounding it.
Totally recommend.

We stayed for 10 nights in September 2011. Beautiful rooms and great location. Kids loved the pool and shady day bed. Staff were lovely and we often asked them to cook for us and we were always happy with the yummy generous meals. There were a few things that disappointed us, the owners popped in constantly without warning, sometimes up to 5 times a day which made it hard to relax. We were also told that it was frowned upon to buy our own food and store it in the fridges and that the staff were there to cook for us. With 7 hungry kids in our party we chose a villa for this reason, we wanted to be able to use the kitchen to make a quick sandwich or smoothie and not have to eat out at every meal. We were also not told that we had to pay the staff, this should be mentioned in the rate plan. We were told that the staff expect $5 per person per day. With a party of 12 and 4 staff this adds up to $240 per day. We needed up not leaving this much as we thought it was unfair that we were to pay their wages but felt bad as the staff were so lovely and helpful. We ended up leaving $120 per staff member which we thought was a generous tip. It is the owners responsibility to pay the wages not the guests.
I loved this villa and we had a fab holiday but these things did impact on our stay.

Management Response
21 Feb 2012
We can only wish the guests had talked to us when they were there if there was something
making them uncomfortable on their holiday, instead of waiting 3 months later to publicly voice their displeasure. We would have fixed any problems they were having.
The statement that we expect our staff to work for tips is just false and heartbreaking to hear.
We are sorry that somehow that idea came across as our method of paying the staff. Our staff is quite happy working there as anyone reading the other reviews can sense. They are our extended family here in Bali and are treated well and cared for well in many ways beyond a basic salary and tips. The guest review said they must pay $245 per day for our staff in tips is just not true.
We could go further and dispute point by point. Instead, we only can wish that the readers in Trip Advisor pay attention to our many good reviews and take this one guest's review as one side of a story that we do not wish to publicly dispute here over and over on Trip Advisor.

I do recommend Puri Dana to all!
The villa is superb, well agenced around the swimming pool. the rooms are clean and spacious and all decorated with charming balinese style. The staff is always smilling and available to please the guests. The cook can prepares wide variety of delicious indonesian dishes. We wanted to bring her back home for her cooking skills. My famiy and I had quality holidays in Puri Dana Bali that we will always remember. Special thanks to the owner Nikko, who has provided us with 5 stars hotel services and great one day tour.
