“Great Staff.”
Reviewed 2 October 2012

I am always they type of person to say, you get what you pay for. This hotel was pretty cheap. But the location was pretty good Seminyak is a nice place but still close enough to some great restaurants and shopping. the room was clean, serviced daily and clean sheets on the bed every day. and a couple of bottles of water left every day too. Staff were lovely and i could not fault them at all. Will even email and keep in touch with one man and his wife (who were our tour guides when we needed them. and only pay $35 for a 8 hour day ( including car) she drove us to the monkey forest and even helped get the best prices at the traditional market (go there before being ripped of in Kuta. )

Room Tip: Just ask for a quiet room as there was a large group of young people staying and some people got wok...

I stayed here for 3 nights with a friend and enjoyed the stay. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The room was basic but very clean and had everything you needed. We stayed in a room facing the pool which was nice and you had a balcony with a cushioned bench to relax on. The pool area itself was nice and had a pool bar to keep us topped up with refreshments. Although clean, the pool could have used a bit more attention as there were regularly quite a few leaves floating in it. The restaurant was a bit hit and miss, one night we had a very nice meal there but the other time was not as nice. The location is fantastic- the main strip of restaurants and bars is less than a minutes walk away & the beach is about a 10 minute walk. I would definitely stay here again.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. we arrived late and the staff was very friendly. Our room was mostly clean the beds worse for me and uncomfortable in the shower was from the stone age. Upon talking to the staff at the move to us to a nother room which was the equally dated but slightly better than the last. We ask for an upgrade and the next day we were moved into our new room. The following is a list of things that need to be addressed: shower grossly outdated, shower drain clogged, shower curtain moldy, lack of sufficient hot water, dirty mattress, moldy the wall, smooshed bugs and dirty wall, unsafe light fixtures and unusable television. overall we saw 3 rooms and none of them were worth the cost. with some serious update this hotel could be great I can't stress enough how wonderful the staff was and how friendly they were however I could not recommend this hotel to a friend we have some considerable upgrades.

It’s the first time I stayed in Seminyak in August, and I discovered a whole new world: instead of the usual 30-50 something bobo crowd, just a bunch of young Northern Europeans enjoying a much tamer version of Ibiza-Hagios Nikolaos-Canary Islands. At least that was the crowd that was patronizing the Village Seminyak when I was there. Nothing outrageous though: the not so loud Eurotrash music was turned off by 11pm. Time to retreat to the room: large enough, no doubt about this, vaguely renovated (we learn on the official signage that the hotel used to be called “Chez Bali”, thus implying a recent change of management), but that’s it. The bathroom is huge, no bath tub (which is OK by me, maybe not by everyone’s standards) but, more annoyingly, no hot water on the very low pressure shower; and the toilet is definitely past its prime. The TV has twenty odd Bahasa language channels, but only two non Indonesian ones - strangely, AXN and Nickelodeon. There is WiFi internet indeed, but only outdoors, around the pool, and even then, you have to position yourself right on the beam, one metre away and you can’t even open your browser. The location has the advantage of being quiet, but, frankly, you are in the middle of nowhere. I made an attempt at going out to try and get a vibe of the Seminyak scene, but I just found myself in a maze of little streets bordered by endless rows of “villas” (supposedly stylish compounds of tourist bungalows), with no feeling of being by the sea, just in an upper-middle class suburb. So I gave up and turned back.

As usual in Bali, all these flaws are made lighter by the staff’s lovely and smiling attitude. However, at US$55, the Village Seminyak is definitely overpriced compared to similar (or better) places in the area, even in August.

When we arrived late in teh evening we where given with no shower, only a bath with a hose that did not reach over my head if i stood up. During the night it rained and the roof leaked. The next day they moved us ti a different room and all was fine from then on. "Resort is old with little or no facilities. Large pool with small bar which was great. Our neighbours either side of us both had rooms that flooded and they moved them out but then moved new people in the same day. Staff very very frindly and helpful. Hotel is 5 min walk to a heap of restuarants (which is handy as no restuarant onsite to speak of) and shops. Seminyak is a very nice town.

My daughter and I needed budget accomodation for a short stay in Bali, I usually stay at the up market Seminyak hotels but this time we just needed a room for a few nights. We were surprised that we got the room with breakfast so cheap (booked online $124.00 for 3 nights with b/fast for both of us) the hotel is the older style, with simple clean rooms, very, very helpfull staff and a basic b/fast,( toast, eggs, fruit, noodles, tea & coffee & juice)
The pool area is great and the location is unbelievable, just behind Ultimo & opposite the Mutiara. We requested a DVD player which was supplied free as was the trip to the Airport!
A surprisingly pleasant stay, highly recommended for budget minded travellers.

We booked and paid for this hotel in advance and were unable to check out for 3 days. If we could have we would have gone sooner. Nothing that you could really put your finger on but there are other hotels nearby with beautiful restaurants, smiling staff and much better value.
