“Good for couples, not for toddlers!”
Reviewed 25 September 2012

Booked a 1BR villa.

PROS:
*All email correspondence was answered quickly and politely.
*Checked in at jas boutique villa quickly and was given a mobile phone and offer of free transport within sminyak area, which came in very handy!
*Great location, close to shops, supermarkets & restaurants.
*Staff were friendly and somewhat helpful.
*Villa is clean & modern.
*Plenty of options for breakfast.

CONS:
*Was provided with a broken dirty cot for our stay. It was 'fixed' up after I complained. Not very comfortable so I had to line it with pillows as all you can feel is a plank of wood in the middle and sagging between. The mosquito net I've requested was half the size of the cot so was useless, and after asking them to replace it they brought me a long piece of net material which did the job.
*The room and water smells like sewage.
*No sitting area, so no room for my baby to play with her nanny.
*To get to the kitchen from the bedroom, you have to walk outside
*The water in the shower gets everywhere.
* Road leading to the villa is under construction, so very rough and dusty.
*Our room was situated next to dayspa and you can hear the ladies shouting & conversing with each other!

Overall, great villa for couples or families with older kids, but not suitable for family with toddler especially if you hired a nanny.

We recently returned from a great week spent at Jas Boutique villas.
We were a group of 11 people and we rented 3 x 2 bedroom villas.
It was a great stay and the staff at the villas were very helpful. They drove us everywhere we wanted to go and we were supplied with a mobile phone for each villa, we only had to call and they would send the cars to pick us up. Very obliging and nothing was too much trouble.
Villas were great and brekkie was adequate.
Woulld have no problems staying there again, very centrally located as well.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa for 4 nights. The location was great and although they were working on the road to the villas it was very quiet. A cake was left to our surprise for my birthday. All staff were friendly, helpful and extremely polite. The rooms were spacious and modern. We didn't have a problem with mosquitoes as spray and coils were left for us to use. My only concern would be taking young children as the pool is not fenced. We found breakfast to be tasty and felt enough options were available, eating alfresco was terrific. Only a few minutes walk to the main road.

Room Tip: Ideal for families with older children(able to swim) or 2 couples.

At 2 AM in the morning, the taxi driver finally found this hotel up an unimproved side road in Seminyak only for us to be told our room was not available, but we could stay in the partner Jas Villa Hotel which was nearby. Another search revealed there was such a place, again up a marginally better side road, and there was actually someone there who was expecting us. This was quite a nice room with individual small swimming pool, two separate bedrooms each with a private bath. The next morning (coming only several hours after our arrival) breakfast could be ordered from the same little attached Warung that the local taxi drivers use, and it was delivered to us in our room quite promptly thereafter. Pretty good food, actually. If they ever get the road sealed and sort out the neighborhood (tethered cows grazing among the plastic bags and refuse along the acess road to the main drag), the concept and construction will make it an OK place to come back to. For the immediate future, there are many better choices in the area.

Room Tip: Try somewhere else

We arrived at Demparsar at 11pm and were very happy that we had booked the VILLA’S Fast Immigration and Custom Clearance Service - were guided around lines immigration lines and were at the carousel before the baggage. We were then were whisked through customs avoiding another queue. Then the Jas Boutique driver greeted us with iced towels and bottles of chilled water. The transfer services might seem pricey compared with general Bali service but if you have AUD, USD, EURO, YEN etc everything in Bali is very affordable - treat yourself!

The villas are spectacular. We got upgraded from the one bedroom we booked to 2 bedroom - It wasn't a lot of space, but the space was used really well. The bedrooms & bathrooms are sealed with refrigerated air-cond, while the kitchen/living is an open pavilion with an overhead fan to keep mozzies away. The decor is modern and sleek - plenty of Bali touches, and an outdoor lifestyle. The private pools are great - good size, but quite deep (1.5 metres). The daybed was bliss. The bathrooms are spectacular, although the waterfall showers a lot of spashed water.

All staff at the villas were very hospitable and friendly, service was always fast. The western breakfasts weren’t great, but there are many good coffee shops on Seminyak road, about 250 metres away (yep, it’s a very rough track but that’s part of being in Bali). The villa’s drivers are happy to drop you off or collect you from around the area for free, or $5 to and from Kuta. The villas lend you a mobile phone with their number programmed in so you can call to be picked up whenever you need.

The full day tour with the Villas driver was excellent. Gede gave us a lot of options of where we could visit, customised the tour, and explained what we seeing along the way. Behind reception is a guest bathroom so you can shower after you have checked out if you have a late night flight out of Denpasar.

Went there for a 4 days 3 nights trip with a friend, and I'm very satisfied with the service! Was served with breakfast right to the doorstep every morning, though it's nothing very sumptuous unlike usual hotel buffet breakfast, but it's still filling enough for us to last a day. The attached pool in the villa gave us the privacy to soak in the pool any time that we want. And the day bed was so lovely, we even had 1 of our dinner there, enjoying the night breeze and chatting along the way. Bedroom was also decently fine, with WIFI throughout, and TV programs that doesn't bored us at all after our day trip back to the hotel.

A little disappointment is just that the hotel is not located in a very convenient location, which require you to walk a fair bit of distance before reaching the Seminyak district, and it could be dangerous for a lady esp at night. But with the price that I had paid for a villa, this is actually nothing, when what I just need to do is to avoid going out at night!

Would recommend to anyone that wish to have a villa stay in Bali, but with limited budget :")
