“Need to Relax?”
Reviewed 2 February 2014

Stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. Its a very relaxing place. Booked at the ground level and the best part is that you can just jump into the pool.
This is not a beach front hotel and there are no stores/shopping/convenience store that is within walking distance. You will be worried as the place looks like a residential place. But once you stepped on the lobby. Everything changes! Best part is when you get inside the room. Its as beautiful as the what the pictures look.
Do watch out for mosquitoes, however you are provided for insecticide/spray.
Will I stay here again, DEFINITELY.

Room Tip: Suite D is the best!

Bought the Groupon voucher for 3days 2 nights stay in this hotel for our honeymoon trip in Bali. We were so worried about this hotel, however it turns out to be excellent and this is the loveliest hotel that we had stayed throughout our stay.

The room is big enough and very clean. Well.. just a little bit of drawback would be the location. We could highly find a restaurant or cafes within 5 minutes walking distance. Overall the food is not bad, just that the variety for the breakfast should be improved.

The staffs here are very helpful and their service is very fast too. Internet speed is so fast and available throughout the hotels. The bed is so comfy in which we really had a good sleep.

Yes, this is not a beach-front property and is a short drive from the busy eat street but it's perfectly beautiful this way :) The place is designed like an oasis, with a long, stretched pool in the middle that you can just jump into after waking up. Breakfast was okay, we're happy that it's a buffet and not just plated/ single serving. Suites are complete and would be so appreciated especially if you intend to stay for more than 3 days. Staff are attentive and friendly. The only comment we gave was that there were some mosquitoes in our room during our stay. They offer free shuttle to the town but since we were there on a peak season, we ran out of seats and didnt want to wait anymore for its 2nd round of trip. They were helpful in assisting us with transfers both to town and the airport. Will we come back? Yes! I feel a little selfish for wanting to keep the place to ourselves actually :D it's worth the price and even exceeding expectations.

PROS
I bought a Groupon for my stay here and it was one of the few things I had in Bali that I felt was completely worth the price I paid for.

Firstly, it is as gorgeous as the pictures look. The pool was a delight every single night, and I loved small details in the hotel (like how they provided cotton pads in beautiful rattan boxes for the ladies!)

It is also wonderfully quiet. Few rooms were occupied when I was there, and we had the pool mostly to ourselves every night. My room was for the suite on the upper floors; the lagoon suites, which allow you direct access to the pool, would be much better but for the price I paid for my room... no complaints there ;)

CONS
HOWEVER... do take note that the place is THIS quiet and peaceful because (as all other reviewers have probably mentioned) it is nowhere near central Seminyak. You can easily get taxis, but your taxi drivers will also inevitably get lost, and they may use it as an attempt to rip you off a few thousand more dollars on the way. The hotel will give you a namecard with their map, but some drivers simply "pretend" they cannot understand it.

Please pay some attention to the roads. Sometimes you have to tell them where to turn, or point out the road sign to them. As of Nov 2013, a taxi trip from the main shopping street (eg. Jl Laksmana) SHOULD NOT cost more than 25k, unless you are feeling generous. Authentic Bluebird Taxis that run by the meter without you even asking will give you a range of 23k. The ones demanding 30k and beyond are just being ridiculous. Please don't believe them if they insist traffic conditions are poor or that the place is "very far away, definitely needs 35K".

P.S. another easier way to get back to the hotel is to ask if they know where Murano Spa is. They probably will. Murano Spa is just down the road, 3min walking distance from the hotel!

P.P.S the hotel only seems to call in the service of this taxi company which has a minimum charge of 25K regardless of distance travelled. So plan your distance wisely if you want to make the most out of your money.

The service of the staff was pleasant, but there was one BIG thing I didn't like:

The Groupon came with a two-way airport transfer in the price. Pickup was wonderful; already patiently waiting for us when we exited and very friendly (might be because he was also advertising himself as a subsequent driver for our trip).

But the agreed drop-off to the airport was a nightmare. First they told us that it was a case-by-case issue of goodwill on their part--they would only be able to send us to the airport if there was another client arriving at a similar time on the same day. They said they only had one vehicle available. After we reminded them that it was a part of our Groupon, they agreed to send us to the airport, and we discussed a pick-up time that we thought was reasonable to get us to the airport -- not too early and not too late.

Unfortunately, right after breakfast, when we decided to politely mention that we would definitely be back at the designated time we agreed on, they asked to shift forward the meeting time by TWO HOURS because they had to pick up a client at that time.

Once again, the same issue. If this two-way transfer service is being provided for me as part of what I have already paid for, why is it not to my convenience? Nowhere was it stated that this service was on a case-by-case basis to the convenience of the hotel.

After that, they tried to tell us this arrangement was because traffic could be bad that they wanted us to be at the airport 4 hours before our flight, just to be safe. Yes, traffic is bad... but it's not THAT bad.

We got tired and just went along anyway. Spent hours rotting at the airport, and tried not to be disappointed to have our last few hours cut short (even after we took the hassle to choose our seats on the flight home so we could check-in later).

If they are understaffed or lack the resources to provide a 2-way transfer to the client's convenience, the Groupon should have never offered this service all. (I understand that they do NOT provide a 2-way transfer usually to their clients).

EXTRA TIP
If you decide to stay in this hotel and would like to try out a Balinese spa experience... please book Murano Spa early! We called them only one night before departure and they were unfortunately fully-booked by then ):
I could barely believe that the spa just walking distance away was one that was so popular!

Room Tip: The lagoon suites are gorgeousssss and provide you direct access into the beautiful pool, but if you...

We stayed here for three days and it couldn't be any better. Room layout is great, complete with mini pantry/kitchen (with basic utensils provided!), study table, couch + table for you to lounge around and a balcony. Love the concept where you can just cook at any convenient time since the hotel is not surrounded by eateries outlet. As for the TV, you could also bring your own movies in hard disk/pendrive and plug it in (if normal tv channels bore you)

Although the location is slightly far from Seminyak centre; not a walking-distance friendly, and finding a Blue bird taxi can be a hassle, the hotel does provide shuttle services twice a day to Seminyak Square (unfortunately it wasn't available during my trip, car was sent for service). If you still insist on getting a taxi, do walk further to the main road or you could request from the hotel to call a taxi for you (with minimum Rp30k fare).

Breakfast spread was nice and decent and the pool is consistently clean every day.

Room Tip: Planning to stay longer in Seminyak? This is the place to go.

We stayed in one of the ground floor units in December 2013.

The balcony area outside our room led directly to the pool which is a very nice and convenient feature.

The hotel was quiet and peaceful when we stayed - a good getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Room Tip: ground floor room is a must

My family of four we find Seminyak Lagoon perfect! It is free from hustle and bustle, no crowd, no queue, no lifts to wait just nice and peaceful. A small hotel with only 19 rooms not having less to meet our needs. We booked two rooms one on the upper floor with a more privacy balcony and one at the lower floor with a pool just outside it. Simply wonderful. Room is nice complete with a kitchenette, ipod docking, android smart tv, comfortable bed & pillows, sofa, writing table, mini fridge, safe box and yes the lower floor bathroom has a glass door open to the pool. All the staffs are polite and friendly. Will definitely stay here again!
