“Not Calm or Serene”
Reviewed 22 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Location, villa and pool were excellent including the wonderful staff; Dayu, Wayan an Gusti. Unfortunately our holiday was ruined by the constant noise and disruption from the building site opposite the villa. Power tools were used for 9 hours a day, 7 days a week despite our pleas for a break. At times, multiple power tools were used just metres away from us. For the first 3 days the workers were constructing the roof directly opposite and overlooking the villa pool. At times the workers were looking directly at us from the roof when we were in the pool. We felt exposed and extremely uncomfortable. We advised the owner, who was understandably unaware of the situation. Her response, whilst sympathetic was to refund us for the remaining days of our stay and suggested we find alternative accommodation. Trawling through TripAdvisor mid stay to find somewhere else was unreasonable and unacceptable to us. Perhaps a simple gesture on behalf of the owners such as a meal, massage or a nights’ refund would have ameliorated the situation and taken this review to 5 stars. Surely an act of goodwill is just good business practice. The construction appeared to have moved away from the fence line so hopefully the incoming guests will not be as impacted by the noise and able to enjoy their stay.

We arrived in Bali, transferred to Villa Ariana. There's nothing that hasn't been thought of. All the staff are more than happy to help/answer any questions. It is your own private retreat with this outstanding garden and pool. This is where l would go to relax. We will be back. .

We have just returned home from our first trip to Bali for a family wedding! Traveling with our 9 month old baby and 3 year old son we wanted somewhere that would be child friendly!

Villa Ariana had everything we needed! My parents came along with us so they had one bedroom and we had the other. Sue and Ron were more than happy to provide us with a toddler bed for our 3 year old, and a portacot for our baby, including a mosquito net!

Dayu the manager was there to greet us on arrival, and Wayun was there to clean the villa everyday! Wayun was just lovely with the kids and she arranged for a hairdresser to come to the villa to do my hair for the wedding, and also came one night with her friend to cook us a traditional Balinese feast!

The location is perfect with just a short walk to 'eat street' where there is plenty of high quality restaurants to eat at. We found Sue and Ron's recommendation sheet very handy, and ate at a lot of those places!

The lane way to the villa was a little bit confronting to start with, but you got used to that after a while. It was always nice to walk back through the doors of the villa as you felt like you had your own quiet little haven away from the crazy busy streets of seminyak. There was a couple of mangy looking dogs, but they didn't come near us at all.

A couple of times late at night the dogs were barking, however this is obviously out of Sue and Ron's control.

If you are traveling with kids I would definitely recommend getting a fence put up around the pool! It cost about $230 (aus) for 10 days, but was definitely worth it. Our 9 month old isn't crawling yet so we didn't have to worry about him on the steps, however if you did have a baby on the move if would be better to get the fence put along the patio area.

We also hired a high chair, bouncer and pram from Bali Baby hire. The high chair and bouncer were great, although we didn't use the pram as the streets are too hard to navigate with a pram.

Overall the Villa was lovely and clean, had all the facilities we needed, plus more! Would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Bali! Thanks for a great stay Sue, Ron, Wayun and Dayu

We had a fantastic stay. The villa was very homely. We were welcomed by the manager- Dayu and she immediately felt like family. Dayu was also there to say goodbye and check how our stay was. The villa was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was great if wanting the option of cooking while there. The pool was clean and the surrounds were beautiful with plenty of options to sit, lay around and spend the day relaxing. Great location and within a 2 min walk to great restaurants and spa massage places. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back.

What a great little find! Down a quiet lane in the heart of Seminyak, it is not noisy at all! Two very comfortable bedrooms with outdoor renovated bathroom with toiletries, lovely outdoor lounge overlooking private pool. Could not have asked for more! Dayu is so helpful, arranged all our transfers at great rates, even called us to check if we were ok as she hadn't heard from us but there was no reason to call as everything was perfect! Thank you so much and can't recommend highly enough!

“Nice but noisy ”
Reviewed 5 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We stayed here for 3 days on early April 2017. It's a gorgeous villa, clean with lots of room and a lovely pool. The owners Sue and Ron were delightful to deal with and the manager Dayu very helpful and friendly.
We had some hot water issues with a broken pipe which happens. We also found the hairdryer incredibly difficult to use needing 2 different adapters which were meant to be in an incredibly messy kitchen drawer
Consequently I went out to dinner with very wet hair - so what's issue - you need to be female to how understand how irritating this is !!
However the thing that was most upsetting and I know is out of the control of the owners , was the early morning barking of the neighbours dog (5am ) there were also mangy dogs in the narrow laneway from the main road which you need to access this property. They unnerved me a bit. Note that you need to carry your own bags for a way along this lane way to the villa and the path is quite uneven and quite wet as it rained a lot while we were there - need to wear rubber shoes.
This Villa is in a central location In Thevheart of Seminyak and close to the main road with restaurants and shops but with that location comes consequences

We had a superb, relaxing and serene stay at Villa Ariana. Prompt correspondence with Sue. Wayan collected fruit from the market for us, was unobtrusive in her cleaning, and always gave a huge smile. Dayu, the villa manager was interactive with us; keen to ensure we had a good visit.
The pictures and descriptions by other guests are accurate, and the villa was very clean. Thank you.
