We have stayed at alot of hotels in Bali and this hotel does not live up to the price they are charging! The service is second rate and staff are not happy! We had an issue when we arrived, we had an early flight and I email asking for early check in, however on arriving at 11am we were told we could not get into our room until 2pm! So we wondered around Seminyak for 3 hours and then went back and were then told our room wouldn't be ready for another hour!!! It wasn't until we kicked up a fuss that we were offered another room until ours was ready. The facilities of the hotel and even where you have breakfast was never explained to us we had to go to reception the next morning to find out where we had breakfast! This has never happened to us before in Bali usually the service is second to none! Not in this hotel! No one was very freindly and staff just didn't seem very happy which is not the norm for Bali! This was my 7th trip so it was very disappointing and I would never recommend this hotel to freinds or family there are alot more hotels in Seminyak where you will get better value for money and much better service. The grounds and the setting of this hotel are very beautiful just a shame the same can't be said for the managment!

We stayed here as the second part of our Bali honeymoon. The hotel is very large and well maintained. Our room was massive! We had the deluxe room on the 1st floor so our terrace looked out onto the gardens which were very pretty. We had a problem with the shower the first night but they did come and fix it and it was better. The pool was lovely, we didn't use the garden pool as we preferred to have the veiw of the sea from the main pool. We had to get sunbeds earlyish around 8am but once you have them then you keep them all day. The beach is just a 2 mins walk from the hotel but be aware that the sand is not white sand. It is a yellowy, black colour ( i think it's because Bali is a volcanic island?). This was a surprise but it's not dirty and we soon got used to it. The sea was very rough and the waves at times were very high and the tides very strong. There were signs up to say no swimming but paddling was ok. Some people were going deeper but they soon got whistled at by the lifeguards when they got too deep!! The main town is a short walk and there are loads of resturants, bars and sports bars to choose from. If you want to go further afield there are plenty of taxis on offer. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel.

My family and I spent 7 nights in a 2bdrm family villa and wow what a location and fantastic service. The villa whilst it was a little bit dark certainly made up for in size and amenities. It was certainly a real thrill given beach access and all the restaurants located on the beach to the south. The villa pool was great and the main beach pool was outstanding. We will be back next year for sure!!!

We stayed at Royal Beach (previously Sofitel) for two weeks. The staff were very efficient and friendly and could not be faultered at all.Our room was large, the bed exceptionally comfortable. However the problem with bali is that things deteriorate really quickly so the bathroom fittings need updating as far as we were concerned. This is possibly picky but the taps were not shiny and the standard of cleaning the bathroom benches and basins was fairly ordinary. The towels are ok but almost ready for an upgrade. The property is pretty with the balinese gardens, making it very relaxing.Your choice of two pools. A quieter one with morning sun or the large pool overlooking the beach. The breakfast on trip advisor gets a great rating. We thought it was JUST ok.We have previously stayed at the sofitel in HUA HIN thailand and the buffet breakfast is amazing, so comparing to that we were disappointed. We only ate in once at the hotel for the BBQ on the beach. We thought this was substandard. The food was not piping hot and the selection was really limited. I would not spend money on this again. We did have a great time here and were happy with the position. Our last gripe was our late check out. As australians our flights to Melbourne are at 11pm so the charge was a half day rate till 6pm and after that a whole day. We thought that was really steep. We did speak to the duty manager and they did let us keep the room till 7pm for the half day rate. Personally I think it should have been free as they weren't at capacity and we are also Accor members. The Duty Manager was very lovely but the system is in place and I believe should be modified. They do have a room that you can utilise and leave your luggage in. I prefer to be able to have my own room and shower and head off to the airport. Overall very happy but Bali has so many properties that are being built the newer ones are in pristine condition. this property is more traditional bali and that gives it a nice feel. we are not sure we would go back. Just a note - that we were in peak season and paid peak prices , so perhaps if we were paying half the rate that we were I would say it was unbelievable value. However as we were paying premium rates it does not get the same review.

Dear Lishwiener,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and I will share it with our team to improve our services.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the day use rate; as you mentioned, it is peak season period therefore we could not offer you free of charge for the service.

We do however hope that you would give us another chance to serve you better in the future.

My family stayed here for 4 nights in June 2011. We were very impressed with this hotel.

Location: Directly on Seminyak beach and just a walking distance to Seminyak shopping area.

Hotel Staff: The Receptionists and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Guest Room: We stayed in the Deluxe Room and it was fabulous. The room was spacious with small balcony facing a garden. The king size bed was very comfortable could fit 2 adults and 1 small child. There were sofa sets at the room's corner to watch TV. They provided internet connection also in the room. Bathtub and separate shower room also the toilet were clean and bright ( I don't like a dimly lit bathroom).

Pools: They had two beautiful pools. One was facing the beach and one was surrounded by a garden.

Buffet Breakfast: With extraordinary range of delicious food.

Really recommended hotel to stay in Bali.
