“Amazing villa in the heart of Seminyak”
Reviewed 25 July 2018 for a stay in July 2018

This villa was absolutely amazing. The kitchen, dining table and lounge are situated outside next to the pool which gives it a great holiday/relaxed vibe. The villa was cleaned for us every day which was fantastically done each time. It was a short walk away from restaurants and bars. Luna was lovely and Prue was very helpful with the original booking. We would all definitely stay here again

“Everything you could ask for and more”
Reviewed 12 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We recently stayed at this villa for a family holiday with 2 adult children and it was the perfect set up with 3 identical bedrooms and each with their own bathroom. Location is perfect, the facilities great, service excellent with local manager Luna available at all times and we had the most perfect holiday. Highly recommended and would love to come back again!

“Clean, comfortable and convenient villa.”
Reviewed 26 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Easy walking to many of the great shopping and dining experiences
along the main drag of Seminyak.
The villa was ideal for our family of 4. Our adult children each had their own
spacious and private bedroom/bathroom.
Mosquito coils are lit each evening by staff but definitely bring your own
insect repellent and insect spray as mosquitos can be a problem.

“Villa Garner Ma - Our new regular holiday destination!!”

Family Holiday with 2 kids under 2 = Relaxing?? I would never have put that sentence together before this holiday.

We just had a very overdue 10 day Holiday in Bali and its not going to be long before we return to Garna Ma after this experience.

Bali was never our first choice as a destination (with the reputation of Kuta) and I was dreading the holiday with my 2 very young and very wriggly kids. But after a lifetime of looking through reviews, a limited budget and recommendations from friends, all roads led here and I was more than pleasantly surprised.
The cost and lure of a 3 bedroom villa was far better than getting holed up in a 1 or 2 bedroom hotel

The Villa and its facilities:
I had no idea of what to expect with a villa style accommodation so We contacted the owner (Prue) before heading over and she went out of her way to make sure everything ran incredibly smooth for us - airport transfers, nannies, pushchairs, cots, pool fence and a load more than she really needed to, and true to her word she delivered.
I've never done a review before but I promised myself I would after this experience because it was truly well deserved.

After a tough flight with the kids we were picked up by our driver and taken to the villa Where we were handed some cold towels and a couple of ice cold and very refreshing cocktails by the villa manager before being shown around our villa ( importantly 2 cots already set up ready for 2 sleepy kids)
The Villa itself had the equivalent of 3 very nicely fitted out 4-5 star hotel rooms, a well equipped kitchen, outdoor living room, 4 TV's, wi fi and private shady pool under a mango tree.
We stayed in April and it was consistently between 30-35degrees but the pool stayed nice and cool and the kids lived in there. We did not struggle with the temperatures at all - which I reckon might happen if it was fully exposed to the sun

The Resort manager was never too far away and never too busy to answer our needs,
The Nanny who they organised for us, Made was her name, (we were dead against the thought of leaving our kids with a stranger at the start, until the first time she came over and the kids just took to here straight away) We stayed around for an hour with her and we felt very comfortable with her, then we put the kids to bed knowing that they had a very friendly and reassuring face there if they did wake, this gave me and my wife several very enjoyable nights out without the stress of juggling the kids.
After that first night we had no hesitations in getting her back for 3 more nights out (the villa also supplied a mobile phone for us in case the nanny called or the resort manager needed to contact us or vice versa.)

The Destination:
It did take me a couple of days to get my bearings but after that there was no stopping us.
situated at the top of the main road for all the top restaurants and quality clothing shops and at the end of the main drag taking you into Legian and Kuta. 20 mins walk to the beach which was a bit too much for us with the kids but a ~$1 ride in a taxi to Seminyak beach or ~$1.50 to Legian beach with its sunset drinks and restaurants on the beach.

The restaurants in Seminyak in my opinion were equal to anything in Melbourne but at a 1/3 of the price.
the Balinese people and the standard of the food were well above my expectations

During the day whilst the kids slept we would take it in turn to nick out and grab a massage at any of the nearby spas. (and we tried quite a few) we even ordered in a massage to the villa.

Kuta was about a $5 cab ride which we did take a look at but I reckon those days are well and truly gone for me.

We went in April which I'm told is the shoulder season but this was plenty busy for us - not quiet by any means but the perfect blend of people to create a holiday atmosphere without the queues

pro's / cons
Pros - Luxurious private resort in a great location, great for families (with our without kids), and groups of friends. wifi was fast and it had the perfect blend of shady areas for the kids and sunny areas for the sun worshippers.

Cons - I need to dig deep to find any cons, so not really one, more of a recommendation. maybe printing out a clearer map of the area with a couple of key landmarks set out on it - maybe this was just me but somehow I walked right past the Bintang supermarket (the biggest in the area after asking directions from the locals) and a 10 minute walk turned into an hour.
That said after 2-3 days I had this all sorted - it would have just helped any 1st timers like us a bit at the start.

A recommendation for anyone else wanting to stay here with small kids is to get the pool fence put up - it did cost us a couple of dollars more a day (and we almost didn't do it) but this was worth every single cent as it gave us reassurance that the curious kids were under wraps and we could take our eye off them for more than a second.

Other than that a massive thanks to Prue and her team for delivering something I thought was impossible with 2 kids.
Its certainly set the benchmark for our future holidays.

“Perfect location for the best of Seminyak”

We were booked to stay at Villa Garner Ma during the peak of the Mt Ruang volcano eruption and I cannot say enough about how kind Prue (the owner) was during this time. One friend was already in Bali whilst myself and another friend were on again / off again as to whether we would even be able to travel to Bali. During this time, Prue was always helpful and available to assist with any queries I had about access to the Villa. Once (finally) there, the heading of "location, location" really does live up to the name. The villa is walking distance to "eat street" where the choice of quality restaurants is endless, Seminyak street where there are lots of homewares shops and is also in the midst of many spas for daily massages if that's your thing. The villa itself is as depicted in the photos - the pool was clean and refreshing and the rooms are serviced daily. Air con in all bedrooms works a treat (no air con in open air communal areas), bathrooms are open to the outside (but very private) but door needs to be kept shut due to mozzies getting in. All the bedrooms / bathrooms are identical in size and amenities. A big bonus being three bed, three bath is that everyone has their own space to retreat to, and the beds really are comfortable (this from a true mattress snob!) There is a small selection of CD's and DVD's as well as some books but for a group of girls (as we were) the routine of getting up, finding breakfast (some great cafe's close by), browsing the shops for a few hours and then coming home to swim and shower before heading out to dinner, this really was the ideal Bali holiday base. The staff come once per day to clean but otherwise we were left to enjoy the villa by ourselves. Full size fridge / freezer, blender (vodka cranberry slushie anyone?), filtered hot / cold water, tea bags, coffee - it's all there. Circle K , mini mart within easy walking distance for milk and other supplies and taxis within a minutes walk onto the main st. If you are looking for a place within a complex where staff are on hand to make breakfast and be available 24/7 then this is not the place for you but for independent travelers who like a bit of privacy it ticks all the boxes.
