“Comfortable Beds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2010

We enjoyed our stay at "The Breezes", friendly staff, and very comfortable beds, reasonably quiet hotel in the day, so sitting by the pool was pretty relaxing. Swim up bar, and infinity pool. At night could hear everything going on down near the bar/pool area, which sometimes was a bit of a nuisance, but I guess this would go on most places, being on holidays. They have a gym which we should of used but didn't. Very close to the Restaurants in Seminyak, about 8000 rupiah in a Taxi from hotel. Walking distance to La Luciolla if you walked along beach, took about 20 minutes. Close to walk up to Jalan Legian for all the great shops. Best bit was the beds, nice and comfortable, not too hard like a lot in Bali. Worst bit, was probably too many Aussie (I am one) but would have rathered more of a mix so I felt on holidays, but they were all well behaved. Breakfast was average, have had better but definately nothing to worry about. Didn't eat at restaurant in evenings, too many good restaurants else where, but did have a club sandwich at the Bar one lunchtime and was very nice. There "Cookies and Cream cocktail was delicious, but would be dangerous for the hips if you had too many. Overall, would stay again perhaps because of location, beds and staff, would recommend it to others.

The staff are friendly and courteous which can be said for most of the hospitality staff in Bali. The cinema room is also a plus. After which this is the best that can be said of this hotel.
The Kids Club has virtually no toys or games no organized program(one is written out but no one runs it!) Basically it's a bare room with a few crayons paper and 1 wii if it's working.
I have to say the breakfast is the worst I have come across in 20 years of visiting Bali - eg cereal choice coco pops cornflakes and the cheapest watered down version of yogurt .You need to ask for muesli it's a hidden request in the kitchen!
The rooms are at most 20sqm .I payed extra for a 'Pool Terrace' - don't waste your money. The shutters and main sliding door both had huge gaps down the side so the mozzies are plentiful, they had to spray the room every night. The air conditioning was very noisy. There is a nice pool bar to sit at but lots of guests(Aussies and Kiwis mainly)like to stand drinking from beer bottles and glasses in the pool. Not a good look or very smart with young children playing and jumping around. Some even order food to eat and spill in the pool!
At best this is just 3 star. For the price there's much much better in Bali

Was recommended by travel agent and had read a few negative reviews before we left so was a little apprehensive but pleasantly surprised on arrival.
It is a wonderfully friendly hotel, I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and their wonderful attitude, they all went out of their way to greet you with genuinely happy smiles. The location is good, not far from the beach (although I don't get too excited by the black sand myself), and far enough away from Kuta and the traffic and street pestering .
The breakfast was good (you get sick of everything after 10 days of staying anywhere) .
Rooms were well appointed, typical of the age of the premises and it looks like they are beginning an upgrade which is needed, the pool areas are great with plenty of lounges and overall our stay was very enjoyable, I would happily recommend Breezes as a comfortable good quality value for money resort.

We stayed at the Breezes for 7 nights and really loved it. I travelled with my 23yo daughter. Very welcoming upon arrival. Perhaps a little slow checking in however we were greeted with a cool delicious drink. All of the staff were so very friendly and could not do enough to help. The breakfast was terrific - with plenty of variety - and really delicious. The pools were fabulous - clean and refreshing - just terrific. The property was almost completely booked and yet it never seemed at all crowded to us. The pool bingo was hilarious - not your mainstream bingo callers thats for sure. The activities all looked like good fun. And different things to participate in each day if you chose to. We attended the Balinese banquet and cultural dance - it was good - maybe a little expensive being $30 per head - but still we enjoyed it. We did eat once in the bar/restaurant however we were not impressed so went elsewhere for our other meals. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Day spa was too expensive at the resort. Fabulous day spa in the same street called "Spa Bali". We loved our treatments that we had there. Overall I would not hesitate to stay at the Breezes again. It was terrific.

First time in Seminyak and have to say - we loved it. I have stayed in Kuta, Sanur and Legian and I much prefer Seminyak. Its not too far away, not too busy - but not too dull, plenty of boutique shops, awesome restaurants, clubs/bars, spa centres etc etc. The only downside is the beach its even worse than Kuta! - but the surf is good.

The Breezes is in a good location...just a short stroll to all the places I just mentioned. There is also a large (cheap) supermarket right next door which offers currency exchange. The beach is approximately 500m down the road.

Upon check in you are cheerfully greeted with cold towels and juices. The lobby is tastefully decorated in a traditional Balinese type theme. The grounds are well kept with two nice pools. There are no lovely Balinese Gardens that you may have enjoyed at other hotels though.

The rooms are very basic. We had a standard ground floor room which was near the pool whilst our friends paid extra for a room on the higher levels. We all agreed that it was actually better to have the ground floor as the rooms were only a tiny bit smaller and it was more of a convenience(rather than climbing stairs after drinking cocktails). The rooms have cheap tiles, in the main rooms, no pictures. The bathrooms are done in marble and glass. The showers are great. The TVs are old (not plasmas) but they do offer satellite channels.

I thought the breakfast was quite reasonable. They offered hot and continental buffet style breakfasts but they tended to stick to the same food everyday.

All in all the Breezes was very comfortable but I would probably look for something extra next time....

Breezes is a big resort and the staff are very helpful but the room we were givin had some animal in the roof that kept running around. Think the room No was 109

One afternoon I was having a nap because of a dodgy tummy when I heard a machine running outside ans smelt fumes coming under the door. It was a local using a fumigating smoke machine for the insects.:(

The breakfast was great and had everything on offer

Charged 165 USD for a room worth 1/2 that price anywhere else on the island. True i got there late (1 am) and without reservation in high season but full rack rate + pay in advance + no late check out (they finally gave up on this one) + TV that does not work + only 1 electrical socket in a worn out room from the 80's left a bitter taste.
