“Why Taman Ayu is so Good...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2013

This hotel is one of a dwindling collection of true ‘garden hotels’ in Seminyak. It has a raft of different price points and competes with the ever-increasing supply of concrete, western style, big- brand, minimum service hotels. It is a sad reality of development that puts pressure on such beautiful places like this.

This place deserves every booking they get, and they are genuinely pleased to see you at check-in.

I have stayed here dozens of times over the past 6 years, and lots of handy improvements are being made all the time. These guys work hard to satisfy the needs of today’s traveller. Please excuse my bullet points:
• It is a proper Bali hotel, and is styled traditionally (not a concrete box)

• You can get all the personal service and help from the great staff who are beyond “kind"

• There is a simple restaurant that serves proper meals all night & day, with room service

• The location in this upscale area of Seminyak is near unbeatable

• It is quiet in the big, beautiful garden setting & so easy to walk or cab to anywhere

• There is free WiFi all throughout the property, and the AC is quiet and cold

• It is not full of loud thoughtless party-people

• Every room has a nice balcony and there is plenty of fresh air from the lush garden

• The pool is deep and big, with a cute kids section and a even a pool bar

• It is always a tranquil and a most pleasing stay

One could keep going with this list. If you are looking for a city apartment-style unit, there are plenty. If you are looking for a lovely Indonesian experience, staffed by wonderful, kind people… you would be hard pressed to find better.

This is not a hotel that has the privilege of some slick marketing team that make snappy websites, and are probably unaware of how best to manage an online reputation. I am wanting to speak up and simply say this…..

“Book with confidence – This a great hotel for a top value stay in Seminyak”.

You will be supporting a great local business, and keeping a nice team of dedicated people ahead of the developers. : )

Room Tip: Kick back and enjoy the pleasant staff & peaceful people that are clever enough to book here, wi...

good rooms, amazing garden, clean pool. It is quite centrally located and all good restaurants are walkable distance. One can walk to seminyak square in about 15 minutes from here.

Restaurant is terrible and they just dont know how to handle this element of the business.

Do not book this place with breakfast included. Better walk down and try really good stuff closeby.

Biku is a real colonial, quaint restaurant and one can spend a full day.

Taman Ayu was a surprise as we booked a cheaper hotel this time we were not sure what we would get. We upgraded our room when we arrived to a larger one .....what a bargain! HUGE room and bathroom. Close to lots of trendy little bars and restaurants.Could easily walk to the beach in the mornings. The pool was refreshingly cool and clean. The little restaurant served a nice breakfast, plain but still very nice.

Room Tip: the superior rooms are average so we upgraded to the super deluxe for an extra $25 a day well worth...

We stayed there in january for 5 nights and we found our deluxe room comfortable and good sized.Although the room could use some renovation it had good elements like the huge bathroom, the comfortable beds, the glass wall facing the gardens. What i didnt like was that the room had no window and if you wanted some fresh air you had to open the door. The hotel is very nice located, quiet yet central-by taxi 5 minutes,on foot 15 minutes to the most popular street-and you can find everything in the neighbourhood.I will stay again here since i found in taman ayu cottage a very good value to quality combination

Upon arrival we were shown our rooms, i was a bit disappointed with the rooms ,they were a bit on the small size and not to my liking ,..although clean ,but a bit worn out, and not deposit boxes,so i asked for another room and was told '' you can have the bigger one but you have to pay more, ..we were shown the bigger rooms and they were a lot bigger and very spacious for a bit more it was worth it,...with deposit boxes...the place is nice ,very nice gardens and nice pool, and not very far from the beach and restaurants, the restaurant i can't comment on the food as we never ate there, but the breakfast is not the best,..go somewhere else ,that is why we never ate there,...apart from that ..if you are looking for a bit of peace, is a nice place to stay, and the staff they are all very friendly.

Room Tip: ask for the bigger rooms, they are huge with a nice balcony.

Taman Ayu, we learned, means "beautiful garden", and the name is fitting if that's important since the grounds are meticulously kept. This hotel is adorned with Hindu sculptures and other religious iconry that help to make it more exotic if you're a Westerner.

As for the hotel's merit, we couldn't have been more pleased. There wasn't an iota of dust in this place. Everything was spectacularly clean. I don't think there is better, friendlier service in all of Indonesia. There is a beautiful pool in this hotel that's very private. We stayed an extra day just because everything was so enjoyable.

My husband and I recently stayed at Taman Ayu in a huge upstairs superor room which was clean and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the grounds were relaxing and peaceful with neatly manicured gardens, a pool and gym. The breakfast was good and the location is away from the noise and crowds in Kuta. This hotel represents great value for money.

Room Tip: Superior rooms are good value for money.
