I dined with a small group recently. The restaurant itself was beautiful, simple and fresh looking. Cocktail on arrival in the front courtyard area was beautiful - great interesting selection.

Very few vegetarian options and I had wrongly thought it was a raw food restaurant. It is called raw and grill. The fish looked good, the tenderloin looked good, side dish broccoli just beautiful. The risotto, however was really disappointingly bland..

Service very friendly and professional but main courses took an extremely longtime. Perhaps teething problems in their fist few months.

I will certainly visit again, and wish them all the best with their new style of restaurant.

With so many wonderful choices and only 8 days, why have dinner twice in the same place? Because URCHIN is that good. Everything about our first dinner experience was so good we just had to try it again, not a fluke, Urchin is that good. 30 years in the business and i know good from great. Urchin is fresh, uncomplicated, attentive and by Bali top shelf standards affordable. Open kitchen is a delight to watch if youre into that sort of thing (i am) Chef Steven Skelly is hands on, seemed to have a little something to do with every dish that went to table. Bread is home made, almost worth the trip on its on but all starters, entrees and mains are equal to the bread - personal. Dessets are also very fresh, light and enjoyable. Service was impeccable on our first visit, slipped a little on second outing but still quite good.

I think the night we went was one of if not the first night they were open, if so it makes it even more impressive. The restaurant is really very nice with the kitchen in open view. Service was spot on and the food was extremely tasty and very well presented, will definitely be back.

Heard and read many good things about this restaurant but found it very
ordinary, it tries to hard to be trendy, and missed, the mark.
Steak was good but over powered by too much beet root roasted and grated, sweet potato nice but not enough to counter act the beet root
Service was good, but food not good enough to want to go back

For the genuine foodie , I'm sure would love it , the trouble the go to presenting your selected dishes is to be acknowledged. My palate is not that sophisticated. But the kitchen is sparkling , the staff are enthusiastic and keen, maybe wind back the menu to allow simpler palates to enjoy the experience of Urchin . Would I go back , yes I would .
