“Excellent Villas”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

My husband and I spent 8 days, we loved everything about this accommodation. The staff are most accommodating with attention to detail, nothing is too much trouble. We upgraded to the Deluxe Villa which was well worth the extra cost. 5-10 minute walk to the beach, and shopping. 20minute walk to Seminyak Square/Eat Street. Easy walk, Taxis are readily available if required. Good shuttle bus free from Agung Village to Kuta daily.Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

My partner and I were hoping to stay in a private villa and near the beach, rather than a Western-style hotel/resort so we chose Bali Agung Village. It was exactly what we were hoping for. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and 5 minute walk in the opposite direction to the main street. The accommodation grounds include a fantastic pool with pool bar, large reception area including a restaurant and separate villas down little paths surrounded by an almost rainforest-like atmosphere. We stayed in the deluxe villa which I would recommend. The deluxe villas are stand alone with a private garden/outdoor seating areas. The room was spacious and clean with a generously sized bed and modern bathroom. Wifi was excellent.
A breakfast buffet was included with each room and the food was fantastic (especially the omelettes). Staff were always very helpful and were able to organise daily activities/transport, etc. Would definitely stay here again next time!

Room Tip: Definitely choose the deluxe villa if its available!

We enjoyed our stay here late last year. The staff here are very helpful and can organise just about anything you need, all you need to do is ask. Coming from Ubud we found this area very busy but I guess its just expected that time of year. It was an effort to go anywhere as the roads were so congested so we walked most places. The included breakfast was superb and was plentiful. The pool was nice and clean although to much chlorine and the towels scarce. This hotel is traditional Bali but is in need of serious renovation and the rooms need urgent repair. Maybe I scored the lemon but our room had dirty floors, stains on the linen, old towels, fragile sower screen, stained toilet bowl, although the air con worked well, and same with the TV. Also I found it strange to walk out onto my balcony to notice avian faeces on the tiles of which I had to call reception to clean every morning. You would think that after requesting to clean our balcony every morning that management would have it arranged there after, but no that didn't happen. I recommend to view the room before agreeing to stay and have backup accom if not to your liking.

Some things to note so there are no surprises:
- it takes longer than you think to get anywhere by taxi
- hard to get a taxi from seminyak to hotel since drivers prefer larger fares
- walking is faster along the beach and up through a hotel to seminyak restaurants
- hotel rooms are really run down
- accom overvalued
- construction noise next door starts around 6:30am

Room Tip: rooms upstairs are quieter

It is a very special place, it really is a quiet little haven in Seminyak.
We have lived in the north of Bali for 5 years and we like a trip to the South for shopping etc. This time we wanted a real break, and we found it, the Bali we remembered from our visits years ago. The bungalows are set in gardens, clean and inviting. The staff so happy and friendly.
I wanted to go to shop in Kuta, I did not want to drive my car so asked for transport. It was there in 10 minutes and we found our destination.
I asked the driver, did you work here long? His reply yes, 15 years,
The resort is being surrounded by concrete high rise blocks, that have air con in every room and are owned by chains. IF YOU WANT TO SEE A LITTLE OF BALI CULTURE< STAY HERE>

Bali Agung Village is a great place to stay. Because it's located in a "quiet" part of Seminyak, you can still feel the atmosphere of Bali. Especially as the apartments and bungalows are built in Balinese style. Staff is very friendly, food at restaurant and breakfast buffet is very good.

Very well kept, clean and short walk to shops, restaurants and beach. The rooms are clean but simple, breakfast is good offering egg station, fruit, cereal, yogurt and hot dishes…Can't complaint for the price if you want to go cheap, I would stay there again!

The place is very nice! Green and clean. The villa was comfortable, big enough. The restaurant is great, the food was delicious. The pool was also very nice! We didn't like Seminyak in general, but if you decided to stay there anyway, Agung Village is a great value for money.
