We were a large group of two families and had a fantastic stay at Umalas retreat 2 and 4. The villas have everything you need, the pool is great and the kids were in it/them morning till night. Kay is so friendly and had some great tips on where to go etc. Also the lead up to the holiday she responded very quickly to my emails. Our chef and housekeeper Yuni was wonderful and even organised (together with my mom and husband) an amazing traditional Balinese suckling pig dinner for my twin sister and my 40th birthdays. Will definitely be back in the future.
My best friend and i stayed 4 nights and we were more than impressed. The villa is very well equipped. The pool was great to cool down everyday. Kohman was lovely. He is very flexible with our plans. And the bonus is there are great cafes in the area. It's not in the heart of seminak but we were happy to be away from the craziness and be in tranquility. Would highly recommend
We had the joy of being able to stay at Umalas Retreat 2 for 4 night for the beginning of our Bali holiday.
All I can say is WOW! The staff are lovely, Komang looked after us every day, cooking us breakfast and making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
The accommodation was beautiful, you walk through the doors into a private paradise of your own.
Whether you want to relax by the pool or in the pool, read a book on the sun bed, explore the local sites or go into Seminyak, you are close to everything.
We were even invited to enjoy a traditional Balinese feast of suckling pig with another villa. It was amazing and we felt so welcome by all the staff, security and other villa guests.
Highly recommended to anyone who is coming to Bali. I will be telling all of my friends!
Had a great stay at Umalas Retreat Villa 2.
Beautiful abode with great furnishings.
Loved the pool - swam every day to cool down.
Free chef was an added bonus with great meals produced.
Friendly staff and would absolutely recommend.
Beautiful villa as advertised. Komang and Ratney were very helpful. Lovely food prepared in the villa. Nice quiet location although it looks approx 15-20 minutes to Seminyak Square in reality actually takes around 45 minutes each way due to heavy traffic. . Mr Putu was extremely helpful in seeing the Island and its many attractions.
My friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Umalas Retreat 2 for 6 glorious nights. I have stayed at many private villas in Bali and this one, for the price, is far superior to any other. The villa is immaculately presented both from a cleanliness aspect and aesthetically. After an incredibly long day of Airport delays, we were instantly transported to relaxation mode the moment we entered this charming villa. The owner, Kay has created an ambient paradise in the decor and lighting and her attention to detail is impeccable. This villa lacks NOTHING! The photos simply do not do it the justice it deserves! We made great use of the refreshing pool and surrounds, spending most days spread out on the sun lounges. The highlight of our stay however, was our amazing chef/housekeeper Komang. His breakfasts were delicious, his dinners amazing and we simply loved having him around. What a delightful, humble, talented man! I often wondered what he thought of the 2 crazy Aussie women he looked after so well. I hope he remembers us as fondly as we will remember him. The location of the villa is a little out of the way, however we used the gojek app and had no problems getting rides to wherever we wanted to go. We were very sad to leave our Umalas paradise and have no hesitation in recommending this villa. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!
Umalas Retreat #2 lived up to its reviews. Great private villa beautifully decorated with a relaxing pool and courtyard. A bit away from the maddening crowds but everything accessible with a short taxi ride - and if you want the beach you can have a day trip to the beach-clubs of Seminyak and Canngu (?) which we enjoyed. But the highlight is undoubtedly the cooking of Kohman which we made full use of - what a star. All the staff go above and beyond with every detail attended to. Now that we've experienced villa life in Bali I think hotels will be our second choice.
