“Lovely Villa, Execellent Service!”
Reviewed 13 October 2010

This villa is awesome!
This is our second time we are staying with them.
Complimentary transport between villa to Kuta and Seminyak area. Not alot of villa will provide this service.
One thing we love is the water cooler in the kitchen, save you from buying bottles of mineral water.
The staff are all friendly and smiley.
Only one problem, the wireless connection is bad. Nevertheless, the staff will be all out to help you to get the connection! Big thankyou to Pak Anto, our bulter Praba and Grya.

We have just returned from a relaxing, blissful week at the Bali Island Villas. The villas (we were in room 9) were very spacious, comfortable and self-contained with a large private pool, jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and kitchen. The villas even comes with a small selection books and DVDs. The sound of birds and water cascading into the pool throughout the day, and frogs croaking at night (with no traffic noise) made it all the more relaxing. Its was so comfortable we loathed to leave the villa and cancelled some of our earlier sightseeing plans! The staff are all very friendly and accomodating. Just outside the hotel is their own little cafe, Java Jive which serves reasonably priced delicious meals - try the Ayam Masak Perdas. Opposite is Biku, a nice restaurant set in a wooden house - the Lemon mousse is fluffy and yummy. The resort is about 10 min walk to the beach at the Pettitenget temple, and 5 min drive to Oberoi road (taxi costs about 11,000 rupiah) where the main shops are. Taxis back from Kuta take about 20-30 minutes and cost about 45,000 rupiah. Be aware though that while the individual villas are large, the footprint of the entire 10-villa resort is rather small, which is the case for most villa developments in Seminyak. It isn't a large villa resort like say, the Banyan Tree Phuket. We had a very relaxing time and plan to return.

I recently stayed at this villa with my partner and 19month old baby. We chose to stay at a villa so we had our own pool and kitchen which made things easier with the baby. Although the villa is only one bedroom, it was a large bedroom and easily accommodated a porta cot. The Villa is very well maintained and of generous propotions. There was plenty of room for our daughter to play and run around. She could even watch a DVD in one room whilst we watched TV in the bedroom. The staff were extremely friendly and able to accommodate all of our requests. You can either sit around the pool or, if you want full sun, there is a lovely, private roof top area with sun lounges where you can tan to your hearts content. The pool is cool (which is rare for Bali) and refreshing. It's also a great size. Not a small plunge pool like other villas.

The only negative I can think of was that on arrival (late at night), no one had bothered to turn on the airconditioning in the villa prior to our arrival so it was stifling hot when we walked in. It wasn't pleasant, particularly with a baby. There are two airconditioning units. One that services the bedroom and one that services the living area. We were advised we could only run one or the other. We weren't too pleased about this given the baby needed to have a sleep during the day in the bedroom whilst we occupied the living area. We expressed our concerns so the staff rewired the airconditioning so both units worked at once. We were very happy with that. It's quiet at the villas - you barely hear or see the other guests. Which suited us.

You can have breakfast delivered to your room or at the hotel's cafe which is next door, on the main road. This isn't ideal as the cafe only opens at 9am and is closed on Sundays. It also doesn't have great overhead cover and when we were there and it started to rain, diners had to sit at their tables with umbrellas!! The room service breakfast is okay and they have a fairly good menu selection. Room service (at hotels throughout the world) do arrive cold though .. so we just zapped it in the microwave! Bali now has fabulous bakeries so we had fresh bread and our jar of vegemite with us so we always had the option of making our own toast as well.

The hotel is quite well located. There's not a great deal within walking distance but you can request the hotel drive you just about anywhere, at any time. The hotel is less than 5mins drive from Jalan Oberoi where there are heaps of fabulous restaurants. It's about a AUD1 cab ride home from there. Due to the poor roads and traffic congestion, it can take up to 40mins to drive to Kuta from there. You would only go into Kuta for more shopping options anyway. You can walk to the beach from the hotel. It would take about 5mins.

Being my 1st trip to Bali getting the right Villa was important & these reviews helped us decide on Bali Island. The villa is very spacious & the pool very generous & set in a beautiful garden. The majority of staff are delightful & helpful with only the odd driver who let the team down. After looking at quite a few villas during our stay we believe we got what we paid for & the Bali Island Villas were well priced.
However there are a few small negatives worth noting.
We came with our ipod being music lovers but discovered there is only 1 ipod dock which we didn't get till our 7th day of our 10 day stay. Needs clarifying on website.
There is no restaurant ( fix your website!) & we were constantly asked to have breakfast at their cafe nearby but there are much nicer places so we didn't.
Staff often forgot to put things back like glasses, cups etc.
The rooftop area is now overlooked by building site next door & they work through the night so we didn't use it.
The spa need to review their "relaxing" music. Playing one piano piece repeatedly for 2 hours is not relaxing.
So while I enjoyed my stay & would recommend it I would probably try somewhere else next time.

No more hotel rooms, BIV's will spoil you for ever.
The bedroom: Huge maybe enough room to bring along the local football team, one huge king bed, heaps of wardrobe space and ensuite? one of the best we have experienced.
Roof top Palapa and day bed: Now get serious, pick up a bottle of Bollinger, Moet or if $$$$'s are not a problem then Crystal as you pass through duty free, chill well and sip cold champagne on the huge day bed nude and with a friend or some one friendly, so secluded and private. Ok don’t laugh, just because we are our mid 60's there’s still some life left yet.
Pool & garden: There goes the champagne again, [clothes this time] secluded, intimate and best of any of the Villas we have stayed in other Asian destinations.
Now the hard part: Difficult to just say thanks to the ever smiling, efficient and helpful management and staff, obviously they are not just staff but well trained professionals who know what is required in quality accommodation and service.
Without exception service was 6 star not 5. Although all were fantastic we must give 7 stars to our butler Argus, ever there to do what ever is required and when we booked a 4 hour tour expecting to be picked up by your average mini tour bus operator No! private BIV car and Argus as tour guide and driver and all the for around A$60.00
And there is more: Dine in, we did 2 nights, we don’t usually do in house hotel dinners, we have come to close to being bankrupt with the bill and second rate over priced food. Not with BIV's, food was great and prices in most cases less than local restaurants, dined down the road at what is listed as top restaurant Sate Bali, good but enjoyed BIV's dinners better and for less.

Thanks every one at BIV's from 2 very happy guests

After doing alot of research into accommodation in bali, we chose Bali Island Villas because we wanted our own private pool and all the reviews were positive.
We took our 10month old son along with us and I was a bit weary that he would wake up the neighbours with his shrieking, but to my suprise, there were no complaints and we couldn't hear other ppl in their villas. The location of the villas is well within reach of the restaurants and funky bars. The best thing about the villas is that it is protected by the mosquitos, I was very worried about the travel alerts (dengue fever, malaria etcc...) especially with a baby. Most villas I came across from my research, were open plan and the living area is open with no windows. The bedroom is the only room with aircon but everywhere else is pretty much outdoors. Not like the Bali Island Villas and Spa, it protected us from the mosquitos without ruining the view of the lap pool. My baby enjoyed the pool so much he didn't want to get out.
The service was second to none! Everytime we arrived at the villa, we were greeted by the reception staff, they actually came out to open our car door. The villa is very clean and spotless, as my baby crawls I am a bit pedantic about how clean the floor is. Room service was amazing, they would set up the dinner/breakfast on the table rather than just leave it on the tray. The cafe was great for a real indonesian coffee/latte. This is definately a place for families, the staff members (Anto) were great with my son and they all entertained him. Bali Island Villas and Spa is the place to be! We will definately be staying there everytime we travel back.

We stayed 5 nights and couldn't fault the room or the service. The staff can't do enough for you and the butler service is an added bonus. We made full use of the limousine service and were able to be taken into Kuta and even driven into Seminyak shops if we didn't feel like walking. Also drive you to dinner if you want. Our butler took us on a day tour of all the places we wanted to see which was great having such personal service. You pay for this but it was so worth it. Breakfast is included but you need to go to the cafe just outside the gate for this. We tried this twice then opted to have breakfast in our villa. Was so much nicer and the food from the restaurant villa is beautiful. We also had two dinners in our room also and the couldn't fault the food, it was fantastic. Try the Tempura Prawn, Mango and Avocado cocktail not to mention the banana and chocolate spring rolls for dessert, delicious, mmmm. Make sure you go to the Spa, the treatments we had were amazing. If you can't get wi-fi in your room, let the butler know and it will be fixed for you straight away as we found out. All in all, we would definitely recommend you stay here and would definitely go back.
