Stayed in the villas outside village with a car loaned to get in and out - the villas are lovely - spacious enough for 2 (in a triple room), lots of shared space for the 5 of us in the 3 rooms. Great diving - lots of small stuff, good muck diving. Of the 5 of my party, 4 have assorted injuries and the DM happily carried our kits into and out of the water for us to gear up, then drop off our kit. We would certainly consider coming back, especially since we now know the best places in the village to eat (in house catering fine for brekkie but overall a bit limited).

Room Tip: Villas are lovely

I've stayed here 3 times over the years with a group of friends. Booking process has always been smooth and efficient. Airport pick-ups and drop-offs were always on time.

The main reason I keep coming back is because of the dive masters. As with my previous trips, we received excellent service from our two Dive Masters; Darma and Putu. They looked after all of us very well and helped everyone brave the rough waves and the rocky beach with ease. My friend hurt her knee and for subsequent dives, both the DMs, carried her equipment for her into the calmer waters and helped her to gear up in the water to avoid her having to skip the dive due to an injured knee. She was extremely grateful for that as once she was in the water, there was no pressure on her knee and she was able to enjoy her dives. The dive masters also were able to gauge our diving style and air utilization after the first two dives and knew how to plan the length of our dives accordingly.

Our equipment was also well handled and stored by our DMs. We never had to carry out gear to the beach as they always had porters to do that for us. Of course, we did our due diligence and clipped up our regulators so that it didn't drag when the porters carried them to the beach. Diving was great for macro stuff. Our photographers had fun with their cams, especially with the macro critters and the school of bumpheads.

Rooms were average but for the price paid, I have no complains. Everything worked and the housekeeping and breakfast staff were very polite, efficient and hardworking. Breakfast was whipped up fairly quickly as they knew we had to move on for our next dive. Transportation for the dives were also well arranged and the dive schedule suited our group well.

I'd like to end with a big shout out to our friendly and responsible Dive Masters, Darma & Putu for a job well done!

Upsides:
- Very friendly dive staff
- Serious dive staff
- Equipment is ok
- Very well located, walking distance from the beach and shipwreck dives

Downsides:
- There are two locations (near the dive center and 200 meters from the dive center). We had to stay in the building which is 200 meters away from the dive center, which is much less fancy. The room was not nice, expensive for what you get.
- Hotel service was pretty poor.
- No wifi in the room
- Dives are a bit pricey

Pick up at airport went smoothly, with a great idea of food on the way (as it's about 3 hours from Densapar and we were in the airport for 2 hours!)
Stayed in the new penthouse villas (which I was told are only 4 months old!) and upstairs one overlooking one of two pools. Great, clean accommodation. Large size room with a queen and a single bed in, table and a decent size fridge (which was v quiet!) the mattresses are devine! New pillow top ones, great and comfy.
The bathroom had a decent pressure and hot shower, and a spa bath in it. Loads of space again.
Massive balcony with great additions like a fan.
Towels for both in hotel and beach ones are provided.
This place is great to stay in, in Tulamben
If there had to be any negatives, they would be....the shower tray would fill with water and would take hours to go down. So much so, if you went in one after another you would end up with overfill and water on bathroom floor.
There was a funny tinted glass window at head height from the main room into the bathroom. Think it was so you could see the view out the back of the mountain. But gave you a shock sometimes seeing the person in the bathroom wandering around!

The resort is set up for divers, and everything was very easy.
The Breakfast was great, juice, coffee/tea, fresh fruit, eggs or omelette and toast.
All in all, I would highly recommend the resort and diving with Tulamben Wreck Divers!

stayed there in the first week of july 2014 for 4 nights to do by PADI OW course. the place is perfect to do a course as its quiet and peaceful. the hotel overlooks a stunning volcano.

the rooms on the first floor are much better , though wifi is quite slow across the hotel.

The dive master Erik was brilliant, very patient thru the course .

the place is just a 5 minute walk away from the liberty ship wreck (wowwwww!!!) and the corals and drop off dive spots.

its a great place to get your certification as you get to dive at all the coolest spots which you would normally pay for.

the hotel staff are very sweet and helpful!

Room Tip: the rooms on the first floor are better and bigger!

Located just across the street from the USAT liberty wreck. You can dive as much as your dive computer allows. Porters are available and plenty. Clean basic room and excellent price of $26/night, including breakfast. Staffs were helpful as well. 2 pools to choose from. Wayan Restaurant and a convenient store across from the hotel. Diveguide Mr.Ketut also pretty helpful.

I stayed for 5 nights in a room right next to the dive center. It was basic but clean and comfortable. Lots of tea and coffee in the room and a fridge. There is a grocery store right across the street and lots of restaurants right there. The pools are beautiful and everyday women come in the late afternoon offering massages for $10 US. There is traffic noise and I was happy with my earplugs. The internet did not work in my room but did fine outside the dive center.
The best part was the chill, easy relaxed diving. There are lots of great guides and I was with one by myself or another experienced diver. You can decide when and where you want to dive. The awesome wreck is right across the street. The 'Muck' diving is first rate with lots of critters. I would be happy to go back and stay longer.
