“Best hotel in Fields Avenue”
Reviewed 4 November 2011

I booked this hotel at the last minute, and decided to take the Jacuzzi room. I cannot praise this hotel enough. The room itself was the cleanest room i have stayed in in Angeles city, It has a huge king bed with fantastic jacuzzi in the main room with the bed. Large screen tv, fast wifi internet access, mini bar, and you own private suana room in the master bedroom!, it also comes complete with seperate shower room, toilet and wash basin. The food was absolutely first class as were all the friendly and more than helpful staff. very very clean and lovely place to stay, I will be returning to the Grand Central each time I return to Angeles city. The location is perfect for anyone wanting o be in the fields avenue area.
I must also say that Justin the American guy who runs the place went out of his way more than beyond the call of duty to help me with local info and general tips whilst staying here. what a great guy. I will definitely be returning to stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for the Jacuzzi room (Number 15) you will not find a better priced clean deluxe room in Fields A...

This place I really liked.

I was staying at a nearby hotel and decided to give the restaurant a try because of the location right in the center of Field's Avenue. I tried the Sushi which was excellent and then proceeded to the front desk to ask if I could see a room. They were sold out but showed me a Jacuzzi room that hadn't been checked into yet.

The room was spectacular. It featured a 4 person Jacuzzi along with an infared Suana. It also had a very comfortable king size bed and a really big TV. Everything looked brand new and it blew away the place I was staying so I made a reservation for the following day.

I loved it and was there for a couple of days. I wish I could have stayed longer but had to check out as the room was already reserved for another party.

Highly recommended.

Best location in town complete with imported King size beds, 42 inch LCD's, and great service. Ate almost every meal at the lobby restaurant and my guests all commented how much they liked the hotel.Kudos to the staff. I had a blast and will be back soon.

Formerly known as "The Orange Lion" which was Dutch-owned but now under a new partnership with the restaurant being operated by 2 Americans - Brian & Mike (nice friendly guys who are very approachable for any assistance required). However, the room rates have increased from 1,900 previously to a promo price of 2,200 and 2,400(non promo) pesos per nite - approx 20%-26% increase.

The old pool table has gone and the Ground floor has been heavily renovated. The new restaurant now carries a menu of various cuisines from local to European and Japanese (which is only available in the evening). However I baulked at the cost of one bucket of ice at 60ps which is too expensive. Better to get it from the Korean supermart further down the road opposite Hangout Cafe which is only 10ps. Even Pacific Breeze charges an affordable 20ps only. There are no more familiar faces from the past - all new ones.

The rooms have been renovated to be non-smoking with 42in LCDTVs now and a new settee. Balconies are still there and it's great to select one facing Fields Avenue so that you can party and drink while watching the world go by below on mainstreet.

The patio outside have got new furnitures and a bartop with sitting stretches from one tend to the other at the entrance. Good thing that this is now under a canvas shelter which can proved to be too hot during the day.

After a terrible night at a nearby hotel, I had decided to checked into Orange Lion the next morning. They were ready to accomodate me & my friend immediately.

These are what Orange Lion offers :
1) Great rooms .. very roomy with balcony
2) Clean Bathroom
3) Wireless accesibilty on every floor
4) Great Service and nice and helpful staff
5) Free Pool
6) Comfortable patio outside hotel for group gatherings. As a matter of fact, it's a great meeting point also for friends who are staying at a different hotel.
7) Great food

Stayed at Orange Lion Hotel, noticed the 2 Dutch named hotels almost opposite each other (Orange Lion and Royal Amsterdam) - really liked the traditional pub style layout in the Orange Lion so chose there.

Although only 12 rooms each room had balcony but the front facing over Fields avenue balconies offering much better views. The rooms all came with couch and armchairs and all facilities you would expect but it was the friendliness of the staff and the management that really impressed my Fiance and I. Any requests we had were met with politeness and immediate response. The showers were hot with adequate pressure and the WIFI although a little slow was no extra charge which is a pet hate of mine when staying in hotels.

The bar downstairs had a large screen with sports on and an impressive range of continental lagers and beers along with a well maintained pool table. Also available was an extensive DVD collection which offered some movies I had not seen for many years.

I also really enjoyed the food, having specialty Dutch and Malaysian dishes was a nice and interesting addition to the menu along with the great value 3 course daily specials.
This hotel is great for anyone visiting the Fields Avenue entertainment strip but I would not recommend it to families due to the proximity of Fields Avenue.

Altogether an enjoyable stay at a charming hotel. Although no pool for the water lovers all other facilities were available.

Located slap in the middle of Fields Avenue you are literally a few steps from a go go bar.
The hotel itself is reasonably new but in need of some finer touches within the rooms.
The restaurant has a fair selection of food and reasonably priced, does a great breakfast.
For convenience of location and being GF I would recommend this hotel and most probably stay here again.
