2nd time to Angeles and was lucky with the hotel. This time I went with a mate and I booked directly with the hotel and the rates were good. Overall the Hotel was a great place to stay and enjoy. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Being in August it rained continually for almost a week. and travelled everywhere with an umbrella. environs were experiencing flooding but our area was ok.
1, Room - nicely and clean and everything worked well and bed was soooo comfy. Hot water was good, flat screen TV with DVD was great and air cond worked perfectly. Key Safe for all my stuff was great. Room overlooked Fields avenue so was able to see all the action.
2. Food - No longer serve food as they have done away with the restaurant and now have a cafe at the front of the hotel - Great coffee. and just a short walk to the Paradise beer garden where good food is served.
3. Location - Fantastic, just walk outside and you were in the action with lots of bars within a 30 second to 5 minute walk away and not far away was mini markets and pharmacy and massage. Noise didn't worry me at night as it was very light background noise and I can usually go to sleep with TV on anyway.

Negatives -
1. -No pool but if you want to swim you can use pool in hotels within 5 minute walk away (Wild Orchid Hotel or Pacific breeze) at small cost.
2. - New bar - Vikings directly opposite Hotel has a good ambience about it-

Overall - on my next visit I would re-use this hotel.

Room Tip: Front rooms overlook Fields avenue but rear rooms may be a bit quieter.

The Hotel was situated in the middle of A Fields Avenue which is also called Walking Street. Located in the middle of all the GOGO bars which at first seemed a choice location. The room was very nicely decked out with a balcony overlooking the street, and the coffee shop at the entrance served great coffee and cakes by two of the hottest looking girls I saw during my stay in Angles.

The problem was the GOGO bar across the road had girls hawking in the street with a very load voices till 3 am each morning trying to get punters to come and have drinks in their bar that made it impossible to get an early night sleep. The other really big disappointment was when you did get to sleep there were two venues directly across the road that were under going renovations and at 8 am the brick saws started up cutting tiles on the footpath. So you were forced to get up and have a shower that presented another problem there was no hot water that usually doesn't worry me but the water was very cold. Needless to say we checked out after the second night and moved to another hotel which was great.

Room Tip: Possibly get a hotel at the back of the hotel off the main street.

Just spent 2 nights there after just dropping in and asking if I could have a look at a room and the amenities then chose to move from a nearby hotel. Great reception, great service, rooms are spot on and the coffee shop is amongst the best. Yes the elevator is a work in progress but not far away from completion I guess. Pricing for peak and off peak is more than acceptable we will be staying there again next time.

cheers

upon arriving, was greeted by an area under serious construction inside and out. the hotel is undergoing major renovations. was offered a room in a "sister" hotel and after hearing the multiple jackhammers, took them up on the offer. a tricycle was hired to take me and my bags over to the Mint, not nearly as conveniently located as the Grand Central, and also under construction. the "restaurant" consisted of a bare rooftop with a few dusty chairs, and a make-shift kitchen with virtually no choices. the room it self was ok if small but had a view of an airshaft only and judging from the way the hotel is situated, many other rooms would have the same (non)view. the bathroom was one of the smallest i have seen in many years.

i would have expected to be contacted by the hotel, advising me of the ongoing construction, and thus giving me the option to cancel and reserve another hotel of my own choice. instead, they waited for my arrival, at which point choices are limited.

Room Tip: try again after construction is over

I stayed at this hotel for five nights this past April, construction going on all the time, no restaurant as per the hotel website, and really nobody there willing to help. Asked if I can get another room since my balcony was overlooking another building's restroom. I was in the US Army and dealt with some interesting sleeping situations but at least I was getting paid, it is reversed here at this hotel you pay to be miserable. Too much money wasted here, at least the girls and entertainment was worth the trip.

Central location but noisy. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with a very good mattress and wifi works well. Balcony is tiny. Bathroom with sober awkward shower. All in all I don't want stay here again for the current price. That is particularly high. Reception staff is a hit and miss. Sometimes thoughtful and sometimes they are very busy with the Internet computer/business and don't even look up as you deliver your key.

Its a very small "overpriced" hotel with just one cafe located at the lobby. No restarueant and definitely no room service (when you really need it at night). The suite (as featured) looks more like a huge bathroom that is fitted with a bed. The bathroom is ok and bed sheets were dirty.

The only saving grace about this hotel is that it is right in the middle of nightlife and everything happens around it. The best rooms are the six rooms with balcony facing the main road, but be prepared for the noise from motorcyles all throughout the day and the nightlife music till dawn !

It is purely a hotel of convenience and if you don't need any sleep !

Room Tip: 2nd and 3rd floor (with balcony) facing the main road
