I was a guest in this hotel when this incident occurred. My friend, billeted a few rooms down, personally witnessed/heard the foreign manager (caucasian gentleman, maybe mid-late 50s, australian accent,in the presence of PNP officers) attempt to extort the Korean guests to "make the issue go away" and if they did not cooperate he would personally see to it they never see Korean soil again. I will NEVER stay there again. A shame, because the location and the pool is great, as is the staff. The owners need to clean up their executive ranks.

I stayed at the Wild Orchid for 17 nights during May and I cannot understand why there are so many negative comments left for this hotel.

The hotel is reasonably priced compared to others in the area and has great facilities. The pools are fantastic and are great for spending a lazy days until it's time to hit the town.

The location of the hotel really makes you feel you could be anywhere in the world and not just a few streets away from all the craziness!

Rooms are of a good quality and are maintained to a high standard, I especially liked the little notices left by individual maids. For the first 10 days I was located in room 308 and although this was a nice room it had a shared balcony and late at night and early morning the adjoining room could be quite noisy, other than this the room was great.

For the last 7 days I was relocated into room 104, this was much better as it had an individual balcony and it was not as noisy. The ground floor rooms are great as they have direct access into the Lagoon swimming pool and when returning from a night out are great fun to just dive in and cool down.

The food and drink at the hotel is of a fantastic quality and very cheap, there is a large selection including many international dishes. Service can be slow but hey we're on Filipino time, so no problem.

The girls working in the Lagoon bar are great fun and you can spend many an hour talking and laughing with these girls.

Overall this hotel in my opinion is much better value than others located close by, such as The Penthouse, ABC, Lewis Grand....

So if you are looking for a well run, cheap and friendly atmosphere located in the heart of the entertainment district of AC then the Wild Orchid is the place to be!

Room Tip: Poolside Lagoon rooms are a little more expensive but are well worth the extra. Room 104 was very ni...

I looked around quite a bit online before deciding to go with the Wild Orchid. I had booked deluxe pool room and was hoping I would have a room right at the pool as the advertising stated on Agoda. However that was not the case, I was on the 2nd floor and nowhere near the pool and you could not even see it. The room was very old, it was clean and the bed was ok but the window looked into the lightwell and it was very dark. The restaurant was just ok and the location was great. But for the price I paid for what I thought was going to be a great room was way too high in comparison with other hotels. Next time I would try one of the newer places or stay at ABC which I know is nice and is roughly the same price give or take $20.00.

Room Tip: I would call and not rely on the websites that advertise their rooms.

Have again visited Wild orchid although food is still lousy and there's an incredible bad service, it is both in terms of quality and speed. I was once again back because of they still have the best swimming pool.
But when it comes to the pool, then the reserved to plople NOT staying in the hotel, this applies throughout the weekend spelled on Sunday, it is impossible to get from your own room and get down to the pool and get the room (table and chairs) because it is filled with real many children, and so many guests from other hotels, so my advice to others.
Stay at a good hotel with good service and do as others, just use Wild orchid’s swimming pool

Room Tip: Stay at another hotel, a good hotel with good service and do as others, just use Wild orchid’s swimm...

We had booked a dubbel room though internet 5 months in advance, but the day we arrived, they told us that two men were not allowed in the same room since they did not offer twins beds.
On internet, on them website, they dont say such a thing!
We had to go out of our budget to buy two rooms instead. (2 x 850 USD)
We asked to talk to the manager, but a rather unpleasant caucasian bloke told us there was nothing he could do... IT IS THE POLICY!
We complained and evoked the case of two married men booking a dubbel room through internet.
it is a HOMOPHOBIC policy.
Anyway, alone or with a lady, we will not go to this hotel again, and if they want to be fair, they shoud put their policy on the web.
Fortunately, we could stay in the hotel just in front, "Penthouse hotel".

There is only one reason to stay in this part of Angeles, and that is the nightlife. If you are here for that, then the location of the Wild Orchid Resort is unbeatable. While the rooms in the older part of the hotel are not that great, I can recommend the rooms in the newer Lagoon wing. The value of these rooms is great, as long as they are significantly cheaper than the ABC or Lewis Grand. If not, then stay there for even better pool/garden areas and better food.
The staff at the Wild Orchid was great. The prices of the minibar and of the bars/restaurants of the hotel are very reasonable indeed. There are only three (mostly minor) negatives i would like to point out:
1. The staff in the restaurant is very nice, the ambience is pleasant, so you like to spend time there. But the food is average at best and terrible at worst. There are a couple of items on the menu that are o.k., but most are not good. Luckily, there are a couple of good restaurants nearby (Tequila Reef Cantina, Swiss Chalet, Phillies and others).
2. During my stay they were doing some re-painting of the facade of the building, which shows that they try to maintain the property in good shape. As part of this effort they should also start fighting mold now, as there was some mold already visible in the bathroom (especially on the door to the shower), and if they don't take care of this now, there will be a big problem in only one or two year's time.
3. There were only large bath towels in the room, NO small towels for face/hand etc. I find that odd and it's actually a little inconvenient if you shower more than once a day; even if you are alone in the room, already in the evening there is no clean or dry towel left.
Apart from these minor points, everything was great. Fab pool area, very comfortable beds, good shower with absolutely no problems regarding water pressure or hot water, great Wi-Fi in the room as well as in the public areas, great selection of tv channels, GREAT staff. I will return.

Room Tip: I highly recommend the rooms in the newer Lagoon wing.

For 500 peso you can use the hotel pool a stuff, the great thing is that you are then in credit for 500 peso to spend on food and drink while you are there! So in effect it costs nothing to use the pool!

Room Tip: Didn't stay the night
