Had to visit after being away for so many years. Food is still good. We ordered fried rice, pancit, shanghai lumpia, lugaw, enchilada, iced tea and of course, tacos. Everything was good. It's a casual joint. You can choose to dine outdoor or indoors where they have air conditioning. Parking can be challenging.

Home of the Jumbo Taco! A must try though the restaurant is a bit far from the city proper with poor parking space.

After reading the reviews here, I was excited to try The Coffee Shop. Boy oh boy was it a disappointment. I was hoping to save some money by eating “local,” and I ended up spending more than I did the night before at the resort.

The “Taco” meat wasn’t bad, but the taco was mostly lettuce. And adding sour cream costs P30! And the crunchy taco isn’t really a taco, it’s more like a taco salad -- it’s not possible to eat it w/o a fork. Any dirty diner in the States would have far better tacos.

Also tried the club sandwich, which was double the price of a normal Filipino style club. It was mostly stacks of bread slices, one piece of ham and some sort of fishy salad. WAAAY to expensive and NOT GOOD, even by Filipino standards.

And lastly, I was treated to a midnight run to the bathroom, no doubt a result of their poor food storage and/or handling.

If you are from the US and know what a taco is supposed to be, do not trust the reviews. They are mostly from Filipinos who to put it nicely, have a different taste.

Must-try: Jumbo tacos, lomi, and fried chicken. It's far from the city proper and the ambiance isn't fantastic, but the at least, going there you get to see a good view of Subic Bay.
