Before I start my review, I just like to say that Phu Quoc is wonderful place with humble upbringings. The locals are the most honest and friendly people in Vietnam . Besides being scammed at the airport , I had a long lasting and memorable stay in Phu Quoc . I will definitely book a longer stay in the future.

Fabulous resort

Staff was super nice, gracious and professional.

Rated 4 stars and have trophy's to prove it.

Rooms (300sq ft) . Cal King bed(2 x doubles put together. You won't notice the split in the middle) . Beds a bit firm, but comfortable. Everything clean and well put together .
Shower, no tub(strong water pressure and hot water) . Has all the toilet tre u need except tooth paste and mouth wash .

Nice large balcony with 2 x wooden lounge chairs .

Welcome fruits And 2 x comp waters.

Breakfast buffet have Russian, Vietnamese and American food available. Nice selection .

The Beach on the resort has plenty of lounge chairs(2 min walk from room).

Beautiful large swimming pool with a deep end . Too deep for kids. They will need wings .

Wonderful property with private entry w/security.

Things to know in Phu Quoc

Free airport transfer(round trip)
Look for the staff with a name sign or their van(light green)with their logo. Watch out for impersonators. Avoid and look for the staff.
FYI : taxi to town 100k($5). I know, cause I got scammed.
Airport to resort 15 min

Scooter rental across from hotel next to a laundry sign. Nice gentlemen. clean, well kepted scooters. Negotiate for 24hours rental. I rented for 150k($7.25 per night).

Duong dong(DD)Night market
30 min walk
5 min scooter
Don't know cost for taxi.

In DD. the Light house temple 7 min scooter. 40 min walk. Beautiful look out point.

Sao Beach 1 hour scooter from hotel. Scattered paved, dirt and gravel roads going there.

Prison camp museum 45 min scooter. Crazy hot in the sauna like barracks . Sad history

Long beach Pearl farm 5 min(right turn from resort). Worth a quick look.

DD area. Best assorted pork noodle soup ($1.25)you will ever experience . Million times better than Anthony bourdains lunch lady in HCM. Plus cane(.30 cent) juice next door to die for(see my pics).

DD area. Best seafood stand at night market . First stall on the left as you enter . Selection: abalone(35k each=$1.50)
Mantis shrimp x 3 ( 200k=$10)
Sea urchin (35k each)
Baby Conch x 6(around 100k =$5)
Snails x 15 (100k )
Saigon red (19k=.80 cent)
Razor clams x 3( 150k = $8)
Morning glory w/garlic (40k =$2)
Price might fluctuate depending on the size.

This hotel could be amazing but sadly there are a few things letting it down. The location was fab & we were given a free upgrade to a sea view room (for which we were very grateful). The room was a good size and the bed was really comfy but the bathroom was very dated and the shower was very low so you have to bend right back to rinse your hair.
The beach was beautiful but the attendant just sat on his phone, if you wanted a towel & bed you had to sort yourself out. The bins & ash treys were not regularly emptied some times first thing in the morning they were still full of yesterday's rubbish.
The staff in reception were helpful but were quite often busy on mobile phones and we even saw one member of staff smoking in the reception. Other staff you pass wondering around the hotel simply ignore you which I find very rude. Many of the staff seem to spend the majority of the day sitting together in the shade watching things on their mobile phones. (I have never experienced this before!!)
The breakfast is ok, the local cuisine is better than western. The toaster was out of action for 2 mornings whilst we were there which was a pain. The breakfast staff were not friendly, In fact they barley spoke & never smiled, beware of leaving your plate if you get up for a drink, it will be gone & binned in seconds. It's disgusting really as they threw away a nearly full plate of toast & bacon.
This hotel has so much potential but they need to invest in staff training, staff need to leave their mobiles in their pockets or in lockers, the breakfast needs improving & the bathrooms need upgrading.
After saying all this I would still recommend this hotel due to the beauty of the beach, comfy large room & close proximity to town & restaurants.

The position is everything with this hotel, right on the beach. Breakfast was ok the Asian breakfast a lot better than Western. Good wifi in rooms which was well furnished and comfortable. Lunch here was good. The staff were excellent. Close to lots of restaurants for excellent fish meals.

We booked 02 nights at the resort and had a pleasant surprise being upgraded from Standard Panorama room to Star Cruise. The resort isn't the newest structure in town but acceptable with great location, which is within walking distance to the night market and surrounding dining places. The room was clean and comfy enough. The resort also provide free bicycles night and day, which gives you means to discover nearly areas and give the resort an edge compared to others. Free pick up from and to the airport is also available.

The private beach is also quite clean with water being in great jade colour, mild waves and spectacular sunset view. Some parts of the beach, however, is quite rocky. Nevertheless, compared to that in Eden Resort, the beach at Saigon Phu Quoc is more enjoying and swimmable.

On the down side, the breakfast is not really up to par with a 4 star standard with limited options for fruits and drinks.

We were very impressed with the hotel based on the reduced price we paid and then to get an upgrade to a sea view room. We may have been less impressed with the prices if we had paid top whack. The beach is great , service helpful and loads of great restaurants on the door stop. A perfect short break from HCMC.
