Kurje Lhakang is situated on dragon line in the earth. This is a very rare and very powerful energy field. If you are looking for peace and a journey within yourself, don't forget to visit this place!!

“Kurje Lhakang -One in the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

Bumthang is a unique destination for people who look for authenticity, stunning nature, peace and quiet and its one of the most sacred places in the world. There are energy fields they are so strong, they help you to heal. The water has powerful healing powers. Kurje Lhakang is situated on the so called dragon line in the earth. This is a very rare and very powerful energy field. Its not for nothing that Guru Rimpoche meditated ther and left his imprint on a rock. If you are looking for excitment this is not the place. But if you are looking for peace and a journey within yourself, this is the place!!

“Peaceful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2012

When I came in here I thought how beautiful this place is, and how much the monks enjoy the beautiful settings here. Some of the best sightseeing in the world lies in Bumthang, raw untouched beauty. There are temples and caves in Kurje, people around from Bhutan come here to visit temples and offer their prayers.

“Large, important and interesting Temple of Imprints.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2012

It is an important temple for the Bhutanese .Guru Rimpoche made this place famous when he supposedly left his body imprint here. It is preserved in a cave inside the oldest 17th c building of the temple complex. Guru Rimpoche was also able to subdue a local demoness here so you can imagine it is a special place. There are three main temples here. The old one is most precious but newer ones are also very interesting. One from circa 1900, the newest in 1990 was sponsored by the Queen Mother Ashi Wangchuck. .In front of the three temples are stupas dedicated to the first three kings of Bhutan. I think we were told some remains of those men are in the stupas so you could call Kurje Lhankhang the burial place for the first three kings.Definitely an interesting place. Good hiking opportunities especially if you combine it with Tamshing monastery.

“A religious place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2012

This is probably why Bumthang shot into prominence. Kurje Lhakhang has religious significance for the locals. Over the years, it has also attracted tourists. The statues inside Kurje are beautiful. More importantly, the atmosphere is just calm and beautiful. Can you get this ambiance in cities?
