“Old Capital of Bhutan”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Punakha is old capital of Bhutan and around three hours drive from present capital- Thimphu, since road widening is going on, so some time you have to wait for road clearing but it is worth. Main attractions of Punakha are its Dzong, Bridge and Sangam of two river. Sangam is very beautiful sight, local say it is meeting of male and female river. Dzong is also very big and I thing present king married here. Dzong is having many temples and local govt. office also. Do not miss during your visit to Bhutan.
