We had a very nice break from the Texas heat for 4 days during early August in Cloudcroft. The Perseid meteor shower was great even from within town. High temp was 70, low was 55. The folks at the Cloudcroft Hotel were wonderful and satisfied every request. The room was very clean and quiet, and the beds were wonderful. Food is limited in Cloudcroft but sufficient and all the people we met were friendly and helpful. We had a great time cycling (although 9000 ft elevation) and hiking and saw a lack bear, elk, and a coyote. A great trip and we will come again.

Thank you Tom for your review. I remember you both and am so happy your stay with us was comfortable and enjoyable. Biking at 9,000 feet is no easy task. So glad we were able to serve you and we look forward to your return.

We LOVED our stay at this hotel!! Starting from the very beginning! The service was perfect and extremely friendly. We had a room that overlooks the town with a HUGE balcony! We had an opportunity to look at all the rooms since we were the first ones there and they all looked incredible, all designed a little different from the other, but all with a rustic feel and with antiques in each room. We are from Houston and only wish we were a little closer because the hotel is under new management and have some cool new amenities for hotel guests that will allow you to experience the town better starting in October. If you are in Cloudcroft this is the place to stay!

The rooms are nice, clean and have a rustic feel to them. Clawtub bathtubs! It just feels like a mini trip back in time! Our service upon arrival was good, but nothing too spectacular. We were the only ones staying in hotel that night, the town was practically deserted! The beds were comfortable and the hotel is right smack in the middle of Burro Ave, Cloudcroft's shopping and main street. We enjoyed our stay, I'd say 3 1/2 out of 5. The water pressure and hot water died quick was the only major complaint. Come here for a relaxing stay, but don't expect much else.

Hi Eric, Thank you so much for the review. Recently we changed management and have corrected the 'short change' on the hot water. We have also added free standing showers, free bicycle use for our guest, food delivery to the hotel and so much more. We hope you will revisit us soon and thank you again for your review it means so much to us.

The room was fairly clean, beds were so-so and the shower set-up was ridiculous. The room was very over-priced for what you get, but there is very little to choose from in this tiny town that seems to be losing its charm.

Thank you Truetexangurl for your review. I am sorry you felt our rooms were over priced. If you come back to our quaint little village I encourage you to check with the other hotels and motels on their prices. I believe for the location, cleanliness, charm and size of our rooms you will find we are a superb value. Recently we changed management and with the change we added a few new amenities...free bicycle use for our guest, food delivery to the hotel and so much more. We hope you will give the peace and tranquility of Cloudcroft another try. And we welcome you here any time. Thank you again for your review it truly means a lot to us.

The husband and I found out last minute we had a weekend off, and decided to drive up to Cloudcroft. We saw the hotel and pulled in. It was 6 on a Saturday evening, and the little town was all closed. The hotel was also, but we called the number on the door and the owner was there in about 3 minutes. The room was exactly what we wanted. Good bed, hot shower, tv, and close to the restaurant and bar. We were in room 4. nothing too fancy, but comfy. The tub was claw-footed which was neat, and the shower never had a problem staying hot. the owners were lovely and welcoming, even giving us tips on a good hiking trail nearby. After a night out at the Western Bar (cash only btw) downstairs we slept very well and checked out by 11. We would definitely stay here again. The price was right and the room was too.!

Room Tip: They also have a room with a balcony that overlooks the street!

The Cloudcroft Hotel in old town Cloudcroft is a great place to stay. It is very chic, with a lot of charm, and personality. Clean. Since they are still doing some remodeling, I will not point out some of the negatives, except that our room should have been equipped with a small microwave and refrigerator. The coffee pot was appreciated. The staff seemed to be a little harried and could possibly be a little more relaxed and customer friendly. The townfolk were very friendly and we noticed that everyone tries to help each other out. I like that - community effort. We did not get very much help from the Chamber of Commerce Representative, she apparently was too busy on the computer to answer our questions about the area. The area shops were great and we were happy to realize that the prices were not outreageous. Great stay.

Room Tip: Room was good except next time get a larger bed, micro and refrig. Otherwise quiet, comfortable, cle...
