Beautiful home. Hosts were like old friends. Highlight was sitting in the patio and watching the sun set. No! It was sitting on the patio watching the sun rise, eating yummy ginger pancakes. Will definitely return, perhaps for the balloon fest.

I have visited many hotels and B&Bs in my lifetime and the Chocolate Turtle has to be one of the best. The hosts have thought of everything to make the guest feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable. The inn itself is so peaceful and charming. The breakfast is scrumptious. Its a plan you never want to leave! If you come to Albuquerque,
the Chocolate Turtle is a must see and stay.

My friend and I stayed two nights at the Chocolate Turtle. French toast was outstanding. We also got great directions, and had a wonderful time out on the patio .. just the right amount of sun with a cool breeze and lots of visits from the birds, rabbits and chipmunks. The hosts were great -- even advised me on how to "negotiate" for the right rug and instructions on how the rugs were hung at the B&B. I admit I was a little skeptical when they recommended "The Flying Star" for a light dinner our first night ..... but the Mac and Cheese is very tasty and cheap. And the desserts are hmmmmmm!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

The Chocolate Turtle, an exquisite little B&B tucked away in the exclusive neighborhood of Corrales, NM deftly blends hospitality, charm and value to form a perfect dessert in the desert.

The four rooms at the Inn each feature a creative décor and private bath. Our room – The Sandia - had a small, private walled patio. The large shared living room provided comfortable couches and chairs, a fireplace, and a variety of books and references to aid guests in understanding the myriad possibilities for exploring the region around the Inn. Additionally, our hosts Chris and Bruce proved to be a vast fount of local knowledge and flavor and pointed us toward several restaurants and attractions that proved to be highlights of our trip.

The outdoor patio faced Sandia Mountain (around 10,000 feet), which looms as a guardian overlooking the vast desert floor. The acre or so beyond the patio supports a wonderful array of native flora and fauna…including numerous rabbits that seemed to add to their numbers each day as well as a plethora of wild birds including quail, hummingbirds, thrashers, finches, doves and white-capped sparrows. Hawks could be seen soaring on the winds above.

The breakfasts – prepared and served by our hosts – highlighted a different tantalizing treat each morning ranging from gingerbread pancakes with spiced peach compote to a green chili and ham quiche. These morning meals - served at 8:30 a.m. sharp – always included a heaping platter of fresh fruit, ample sausage or bacon and fresh juices. The baked goods ranged from cranberry orange scones to freshly baked buttermilk biscuits. The hosts also provided ample snacks and beverages at all times. In the afternoon, Chris put out a plate of fresh baked cookies that quickly vanished as the guests returned from their day’s adventure.

All in all we found every aspect of our stay at The Chocolate Turtle thoroughly enjoyable. This purely Southwestern gem exceeded our expectations in every way.

Ron- Loved your title and really enjoyed reading your review. Appreciated your descriptive comments for you certainly captured the essence of what we have tried to create at the Chocolate Turtle. Delighted that Chris and Bruce were so helpful- we are most fortunate to have such caring and professional inn sitters. Delighted you enjoyed your stay at the Turtle! nancy

The Chocolate Turtle B & B is a perfect Bed and breakfast. The rooms are colorful, clean, and comfortable, full of delightful SW artwork. The hosts are very pleasant and informative and a person feels right at home as soon as one arrives. After a peaceful, restful night's sleep, a delicious gourmet breakfast is provided as one plans the day. Especially nice is dawn and dusk on the patio, with bunnies, quails, swallows and roadrunners! Nearby are Interesting pueblos, museums, galleries, balloon rides, varied restaurants, and a myriad of shopping opportunities. To top this all off, The Chocolate Turtle B & B is reasonably priced! What a gem of a bed and breakfast! It's my favorite from all over the world!

Quiet, comfortable with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The breakfasts were excellent. The Corrales area has many excellent and reasonable restaurants. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

I visited this charming B&B as a participant in a watercolor workshop, and the combination of the beautiful and comfortable accomodations with the peace and serenity of painting plein air around the area made my week long stay more of a retreat than a visit.
The inn sitters at the Chocolate Turtle couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Chris was so kind as to carefully bubble wrap my pottery purchases from Acoma Pueblo to protect them for the trip back home. Breakfast was wonderful, and homemade cookies each day and a Keurig coffee maker took care of any snack attacks!

Room Tip: The Bunny Room was comfortable and perfect for just me. I enjoyed finding the toy bunny someplace n...
