“This is the ONLY place to stay in Farmington as far as I am concerned!”
Reviewed 25 June 2013

The Casa Blanca Inn is an oasis of calm and luxury in Farmington. The innkeepers are so kind and accommodating, they work incredibly hard to make sure you have a perfect stay. The kitchenette was equipped with fresh coffee beans and grinder, tea, hot chocolate and even some microwave popcorn as a snack! There are all the modern amenities but in a beautiful setting. It was wonderful to sit outside in the evenings and enjoy the peaceful outdoor space. Breakfast was delicious and all the details had been thought of down to the selection of nuts and dried fruit for the granola! I hope to be a repeat guest again and again!

We stayed here for the last night of our vacation. We were en route from Lake Powell to the airport in Albuquerque. The town of Farmington is definitely not a destination spot, most I would assume, are passing through or working in the area. We booked the Casa Blanca Inn in Feb for a June trip, and after a few weeks, I was called and asked I would like to be upgraded to another room, which I thought a little odd, but fine. After reading Trip, I find this seems to be a common practice, not quite sure why?

Anyway, the room, Crownpoint Casita, was lovely and clean. Very spacious and the kitchen area was perfect for our wine and nibbles, as we were both a little reluctant to venture into the town for dinner...the "manager" greeted us upon arrival, and although he was quite friendly, he did seem a little odd, and his wife was eating cereal in the dining area and barely lifted her head when introduced. He told us not to worry if we saw flashlights in the night "as he put a lot of attention on security"....and he did mention that "we were the only guests that night", which didn't help. The property itself is lovely but the seating outside the rooms needs cleaning. The manager actually seemed to be more of a groundskeeper, as he took great pride in the gardens and this was confirmed when we met up with another lady the next day at breakfast. She had prepared a lovely buffet of granola, yogurt and fresh fruit and then we enjoyed a cooked egg dish. It was a little bland, but perhaps that's my taste. She was very nice and told us interesting stories about the house and the area. Had we met her on arrival, we would have probably relaxed a little more. The owners have spared no expense in renovations, although I found the heavy Mexican furniture a little overwhelming. All in all, it was a nice stay and given the other options in the main town, it was nice to be a more residential area.

Who would have thought that such a spectacular property existed in Farmington, of all places. The grounds and gardens are exquisite as are the public rooms, such as the library, the living room, the breakfast room etc, and everything is beautifully furnished with truly loving attention to every little detail.
We had booked for 2 nights and were upgraded to the gorgeous Crownpoint Casita, a large suite with fireplace, sitting room, fully outfitted kitchen, and huge bathroom, its own outside patio with views over the gardens and the fountain. An oasis of tranquility. Everything was done in meticulous taste and you could tell that the owners spared no expense, and that their guests' comfort was their most important concern. Robes and bed linens were also of topnotch quality. We also appreciated the level of trust they obviously place in their guests by permitting access to all the lovely objects in the public areas. You truly feel at home.
Although we had planned on seeing Chaco Canyon, we turned around when we found that the last 12 miles were on a pretty awful rutted sand road. What a relief to be able to return to the Casa Blanca Inn. Imagine what it would have felt like to have to spend the rest of the day in a Hampton Suites or any of the other abominations that abound in Farmington.
We had stayed in Santa Fe for 3 nights in a very nice hotel (The Inn on the Alameda), but if we had known that the owners of the Casa Blanca also have a property in Santa Fe, it would have been no contest.
Congratulations to the owners of these marvelous properties!! A great job!!

Room Tip: We loved the Crownpoint Casita.

I am a guide for several 4 corners tour itineraries, and have brought my small groups to Casa Blanca for the past several years. This B&B is an oasis of calm, located in a residential neighborhood near the center of the city. The rooms are well kept, clean, and comfortable. Most surround beautiful gardens and an inviting patio. Breakfast is always a treat with homemade baked goods and creative, hot breakfast dishes. We have ordinarily stayed two nights, using Casa Blanca as a base to visit Chaco Culture NHP, the Bisti Badlands, etc. Of our whole itinerary, this inn is always rated as a favorite by my travelers. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Favorite rooms have been the Garden Room and the Fountain Room, but all are nice.

This is the hidden jewel of New Mexico. My husband says that at Casa Blanca Inn, he got the best sleep of his life--and he doesn't sleep very well. After 12 straight hours of driving from Texas, I almost cried tears of joy and relief at coming "home" to this lovely inn. The staff left some cookies (midnight snack) and a Welcome Letter for us since we got into town very late at night. We stayed at the lovely Chaco Suite that has its own hidden treasures, had a relaxing evening in the large jetted tub, and fell asleep immediately on the exotic bed with the most comfortable pillows you could ever imagine. Waking up to the gorgeous gardens and sunshine, then having a delicious southwestern breakfast topped it off. The staff is stellar. Booking the room was fantastic, as they honored a discount even though they could have easily chalked it up to a technicality. When we met them in person, they were so friendly and even gave us a tour of everything with a history and pointing out some fun details. There are beautiful souvenirs from all over the world here, everything from hand-carved chairs from Mexico to a wall of Navajo baskets in our kitchen and hand-painted sinks. We wish we had booked a longer stay! We will definitely stay at Casa Blanca Inn if we find ourselves in New Mexico again, and will continue to recommend it as 5-star bed and breakfast all-around.

Room Tip: The Chaco suite is wheelchair accessible, so everything is so roomy! Love the bathroom and floor spa...

We chose to stay in Farmington on our way home to Kansas City from Santa Fe so my husband could play golf at Pinon Hills (excellent course!) and we could explore the 4 Corners area. We found the Casa Blanca Inn on the web and loved their website, thinking that if the Inn was half as nice as it appeared, we would be happy. As it turned out, everything far exceeded our expectations--a beautiful home with separate, wonderfully designed and decorated suites, very, very good food and a terrific staff. The attention to detail in every respect was amazing! The location is in an older neighborhood, but quiet and near the fun downtown eateries recommended by the staff. Good beds are especially important to us, and ours was great--high quality sheets, a choice of pillows and total comfort. All in all, a lovely experience!

Room Tip: We stayed in one of the newer suites ( which were built to accommodate handicapped travelers) so we...

The same people that own Casa Blanca Inn in Farmington, NM also own the Blue Lake Inn just outside of Durango Colorado. Since we had a wonderful experience at the Blue Lake we decided to give the Casa Blanca a try and we were not disappointed. The staff is caring but not hovering. They have a laundry for guests-just about unheard of in the world of B&B's. Breakfast is buffet style which allows you to pick and choose both portions and variety. They are just far enough out of the city (only a couple of blocks but up on a hill so the noises are left behind) to feel as though you are a world away.
After two really good experiences we might just give the one in Santa Fe a try.
