It has been many years since my husband and I had been to Gallup. Finally made it back this year to once again browse their many shops. A Gallup icon is Richardson's Trading Co. located on Rte 66. The Native Indians have been trading with this company since 1913. You know you are buying authentic Indian art pieces when you purchase here. Our big disapointment was the many closed shops and also that many shops that were family owned and operated from generation to generation have been bought out by outsiders. Yes, they to trade with the Natives but there is still a feeling of loss of what once was. I encourage you to support the long time business owners who are struggling to stay afloat.
