“Wow!”

Best meal I have had in years! The chicken tamales were amazing! Chips and green salsa was great. Yes this place is in a rough residential neighborhood and there is no good place to park but all of that is forgiven with the first bite!

“DELISHOUS!”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

This place is legit. Family owned and operated, they make almost everything from scratch, including the tortillas, chips and hot [--] green salsa.
The location is in a residential neighborhood and the place itself is an old house. Though not much to look at, it was clean and they were friendly and awesome.
I highly recommend them if you are in the mood for good homemade Mexican while passing through Gallup, NM!

“really?”
Reviewed 6 July 2013

Not understanding how this place has received such a high rating! We usually love off the beaten track finds but this was not worthy. It was clean but just felt shabby. We have been in many similar in Mexico that were much more inviting. Since this is a "tamale factory" we decided to have a few on our lunch stop Great bargain at $1.50 each. They would be close to $10 on a platter. The chips and green salsa were very good and seemed homemade My husbands chicken tamales were fine. Nothing special, little spicy. I had vegetable tamales. Amazed to find the filling looked like canned peas and carrots. Very fine dice. And a few kernels of corn Served with scattering of limp chopped lettuce and diced tomato on the plate for garnish. The most un-Mexican tamale I've ever had
Amazed at the reviews this has received

“The real deal”
Reviewed 4 July 2013 via mobile

We were passing thru Gallup and found this little place via TA. Its high rating is well deserved! One of us had the pork tamales and just about licked the plate clean. I had the steak rancheros-- spicy and delicious. Generous portions, friendly staff!

“real food!”
Reviewed 26 June 2013

we found this eatery on TripAdvisor and the reviews were accurate. Carlos, the owner, seated us right away, answered our menu questions, and took our order. The enchiladas that my husband had we're so good he cleaned his plate. The vegetarian tamales were just okay. If the veggies had been fresh they would have been better. Overall, good food, good prices, and a good local restaurant.
