We stopped by on a whim and wish we could stay forever. Perfect place to stay after a long hike in the mountains. Hot tub in the room, classic westerns available at the front desk, delicious enchiladas down the road at Los Ojos.

Elk Mountain Lodge is unique, to say the least. Each room is "custom" designed and laid out with a combination of rustic bare wood and the most modern electric and plumbing facilities imaginable. We've been going there for years and always plan our trip to the SW to include a stopover in Jemez Springs, NM. Out of the way, quiet, the best breakfast (free) you could ask for. Very convenient to Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Albuquerque. But Jemez Springs itself is a great destination with all kinds of hiking, historical parks and artsy galleries; and perhaps the coolest bar and grill in all of the SW - Los Ojos. Lots of bullet holes in the tin ceiling, but don't worry - no news ones for the last 30years!

We decided to take a detour and stay up here, rather than The city...SO glad we did..well worth the views and a lovely night with a room to spread out after 10 days traveling cross country with 2 kiddies. Gartha nd Robin were very welcoming. Our kids loved Cody the dog! We grabbed some hot dogs and smores' supplies before heading up and it made for a nice evening. The breakfast was lovely, and yes breakfast burritos were yummy! Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great. super clean and kitchette stocked with plates, silverware. Would have loved a few more hours to see the surrounding sites and take a few hikes...definitely would love to come back...maybe without the kids!!

Welcoming and very comfortable. Appreciated the extra towels to dry the patio chairs after a rain, soak up coffee spill....somehow he turned on the perfect music when we got there! Very clean, stayed in the Royal Aspen with perfect private patio, full gas grill and fire pit with wood. Small fridge, micro, small coffee maker. Basic silverware and small plates, full glassware for 2. Bring your own supplies to cook. There was a can opener. Toiletries provided too. Had to miss breakfast too bad would love to go back.

This is a lovely lodge, tucked in a serene mountain setting, surrounded by the beauty of Jemez. Our room, the Royal Aspen was quite expansive and well appointed. All the amenities inside as described by previous reviews, I say "ditto". It was very cold, snow on the ground but our room was very warm . The owners, Garth, Robin and Terry couldn't be nicer and more welcoming to us. The reservations, the checking in/out and general questions about the area were smoothly done. We will definitely return in the future. The area is gorgeous and there is much to explore.
