“Great salad bar, but also sandwiches”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

When we went on the evening of July 4, there were hardly any customers. I expect this is understandable, as there were going to be festivities and fireworks at the Field of Dreams in town. But the salad bar was great, as always. It has more than one can possibly eat, both fresh items (2 kinds of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, baby carrots) as well as prepared salads (2 kinds of potato salad, a macaroni salad, pickled beets, canned artichoke pieces, cottage cheese, a fruit salad) and lots of salad dressing and toppings (like chopped almonds, sunflower seeds, a mixture of walnuts, craisins, and other goodies), plus various packed crackers (with imbedded seeds, made especially for Jason's) and their miniature cornbread and gingerbread muffins. One walks up to the counter to order. If one has just a salad bar, one picks up one's plate at the end of the counter. If one gets a made-to-order sandwich or salad, then one gets a number to put on the table and later the items are brought out. If you have an NMSU ID card, then you can show it and get a discount. There is always soft-serve ice cream included. They put out tiny cups for the soft serve ice cream, but those are often enough--one can put chocolate sauce on the ice cream and nuts from the salad bar. The restrooms are clean. There is plenty of parking out front and on the side.

“Really enjoyed”
Reviewed 21 December 2013

After being on the road for 10 days, it was nice to have a 'regular-type', comfort food meal. Since we were exhausted from our fun at White Sands, we decided to get sandwiches & soup to take back to our hotel to eat. Loved that they have organic products. Everything we had was very tasty. Would visit again if ever back in the Las Cruces area.

“Thanksgiving in Las Cruces”
Reviewed 14 December 2013

The service was efficient and friendly. The restaurant is cafeteria style where if you order a sandwich or plate it will be served to you. This is an excellent place if you want a salad bar or their special of soup and salad. The salad bar was well stocked and filling. As for the sandwiches and meals the dishes sounded nice but I did not try. After a long day of traveling, this place hit the spot.

“Ok Jason's but steer clear of Spicy Seafood Gumbo”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 via mobile

I've eaten at several Jason's in several cities and this is not one of the better ones. Most of the food was good, if overpriced, but the Spicy Seafood Gumbo was bad. It tasted (and looked) like brown gravy with too much Tabasco and a few shrimp thrown in. I am serious. If there were veggies in there they were pureed. And the service was poor. The restaurant was practically empty yet the hot food came out slowly. And they forgot 1 bowl of soup and 2 salads despite the fact there were only 3 of us. They made us pull out our receipt and prove we had ordered what we claimed. Also overpriced. Over $40 for dinner and we had water to drink so prrtty expensive for 3 soups, 2 salads, and 1/2 sandwich.
