Made a trip to the Plaza Hotel every year for the past seven years. Although we have not been to the Plaza Hotel since September 2012, we are back now in July 2014. Do not like the transformation at all! Definitely has gone down hill. Need a wrist band to enter the bar area. We ate in the restaurant area and the tap beer was served in plastic cups. The blue corn tacos were made with can chicken. The interior looks run down. What happened to such a beautiful historic place? It is not just the hotel....things have changed around the square and not for the better. What a disappointment. It was a place we loved to visit.

The room was not in the Victorian Section, but it was clean and quiet.
Carpet needs updating tho, many stains and looks dirty.
While we bought it on "Priceline" it advertised on its website that it had free breakfast...and it is not free...very high end hotel restaurant ...
The other issue is the Plaza folds up the sidewalks at 5 pm...hard to find anything open.
Very friendly and accommodating staff...

Room Tip: If you like the " early matrimony style" ask for the Victorian section which of course is...

... not now. We have stayed at the Plaza in the past and had always enjoyed it. This time was different though. We checked in on July 17, threw our bags in the room, then headed downstairs for dinner. After a full day in Santa Fe and on the road, we didn't bother to inspect the room; just went to bed.

When we woke in the morning, I noticed that there was a wrapper from a trail bar on the floor beside my bed, and it was not mine. Then I realized that the used newspapers that were in the trash can under the bathroom sink were not ours either. Knowing this, we regretted sleeping in the room that night.

We told the front desk about it so that they could let the maid know why she didn't get any tip. Hopefully the hotel will remedy the situation.

Room Tip: The downside is that we had requested (online) a room facing the plaza and did not get one. The ups...

While this is not the newest and most modern hotel I have ever stayed in, it is still a very classy, historical experience. My room on the quiet side of the hotel was very clean and quite large, decorated in an older victorian style - lacy curtains, creaky floors. The staff is super-polite, friendly and helpful; from the concierge to the wait staff to the bartenders - everyone was great. Make sure to use your complimentary breakfast tickets as this is one of the BEST free full-service breakfasts I have ever had. Great value and a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: There is a quiet side and a more noisy side to this hotel. The side that looks over the plaza can be...

If you are looking for Victorian Rooms with a Historic flare this is a GREAT place to stay.

Staff was VERY polite and helpful.

Our room was a 1 room Queen, room seemed quit large.

Room was clean, Bathroom was up to date, and Bedding was Clean.

TV was a very small (19 inch) and questionable on what channels. ( but we were not there to watch TV)

We would stay there again if in Las Vegas.

Only downside was breakfast, that day they were very disorganized, it took an hour to have some hash browns and bacon.

We enjoyed the stay, I was greeted by name (unusual at most hotels) great breakfast. Like others that commented the spring beds were just ok, but the location and friendless were great. I would stay again.
