The best part of this casino/hotel is the view of the lake and the mountains, but I'm not sure its worth putting up with all the substandard issues at the IMG. We stayed at IMG for a Julio Iglesias concert. Extremely disappointed, as the venue is a flat floor, which makes for poor visibility unless you are on the front row. Sound was poor, lighting was poor, lines were long, drinks were overpriced, tickets were way overpriced for the total experience. In fact, everything about this hotel is overpriced, room rates (regular rates are bad enough, but they are especially fond of gouging you for rooms at any time near a holiday), meals (decent food but ridiculous prices at Wendell's, and just forget the buffet), drinks (especially if ordered in Wendell's restaurant - $18 for a long island ice tea), etc., etc. We have come to IMG often over many years just to relax, but the prices continue to rise and the hotel is not being kept up as well as it should be. It feels like they are only interested in seeing how much money they can relieve you of. I guess they figure that if the gambling isn't lucrative enough, they can get more from you from other sources. On top of all this, the staff has an attitude problem....."take it or leave it". There are a number of new hotels in the area that we may consider instead of IMG on our next visit to Ruidoso.

Room Tip: Ask for lake view on upper floor near an elevator

Room was beautiful and very roomy! The bed was like sleeping on a bed of feathers! Food was fabulous breakfast and dinner! Golf was enjoyable! Bathroom was very nice with jetted tub and separate shower! We can not wait for our next trip!
The only downfall was that we could not sit on balcony because of the mud martin birds had made a mess. But will not keep us from returning!

Room Tip: The suites looking over lake is a must!

Contrary to some of the other reviews on this site, our room was clean and comfortable. A couple of light fixtures needed some light dusting but other than that, the room was fine. The beds were soft and the sheets were clean as well. We travelled with a 3 yr and a 1 yr old. We enjoyed room service for dinner and breakfast. The food arrived within 20 minutes. Breakfast arrived on time as we asked the night before. We called room service and they didn't answer, however, they called back to take our order. The grounds were very nice as was the lobby and bar area. The service was good also, at least with the people we dealt with. The hotel offers free wi-fi but we could not get a strong enough signal in our room. We were in the furthest room away from the lobby. Signal was too weak.

Room Tip: Weeknight stays are very affordable.

My husband recieved a free promotional offer in the mail. SO we thought what a great idea to get away for a couple of days with our 13 mnth old. We recieved an upgrade with a view of the lake due to the lack of clean rooms available. It was clean and very nice deco, soft comfy bed. The room had no refrigerator or microwave. We requested a microwave to heat up baby food and it came within 5 minutes. The food at buffet is decent but not the best. The arcade was small but not bad. There were ALOT of people during check-in and at the pool. Other than that, we were very impressed with the courtesy, cleanliness, and accomodations offered. We would go again and recommend to family and friends.

Room Tip: Arrive early for chance of nice room upgrade!!

We stayed at the Inn one-night for free because of a casino promotion coupon we got in the mail. I encourage anyone who travels to this area to sign up for the Spirit Club to get discounted room rates. They are usually only good for Sunday-Thursday nights, but anyone who pays full price for this place is paying too much for their rooms. When the Inn first opened it was probably worth the $179/night rates. However, the rooms are in poor shape. Our room had stains on the carpet, black marks on the walls and dusty furniture. There was white paint or dried plaster all over the wall above the toilet too. We had a King room with a sleeper sofa, and the sleeper sofa was falling apart! They didn't even have the room stocked with bedding for the sleeper, we had to call and request it. The towels in the restroom and from the pool were tattered and old looking, but at least they stocked enough towels for the room. The views of Sierra Blanca are the highlight of the resort and are beautiful!
The food at Wendells Restaurant is good, but not fine dining quality and neither is the service, except the tableside ceaser salad preparation was treat. The food at the Nations Buffet is substandard. It looks and tastes like food out of a box. My recommendation is to also use the casino promotions to eat at the Buffet or only go on the $9.99 days, otherwise you are paying too much for the food.
The Inn boasts Wi-Fi coverage, but it was spotty and seemed to work best in the lobby. Also, don't expect your cell phone to work in all the areas.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view near an elevator.

Clerk that checked me in was hostile because I asked her if I was not going to stay the
second night, could I cancel the next morning and not be charged? She rudely told me yes, I could cancel. Next morning, they told me to leave as I did not have a reservation, due to hateful clerk canceling it without me telling her to do so, OR, I could move to another wing with a view of the parking lot. Buffet was so bland, they should have paid
people to sit in there just to look like somebody was enjoying it. If you can stand rude
service, then stay here, if u can get lake view, great, but the BS u have to put up with, is not worth it for sure. Several residents (store owners) said everybody complains that stays there and I believe it. Obviously, they are not interested in repeat business. My room was never cleaned. Clerk liked about me asking for 2 nights, she said I did not. Supervisor said she believed the clerk, not me etc. Was a nightmare. Plus side, location is excellent.

Room Tip: they charge u $20 for lakeview,
