“Very fun and comfortable”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

I'm a frequent traveller to the southern NM area and always stay at IMG. The rooms are very nice for the price and the scenery and weather cannot be beat. I don't recommend the valet parking as they are very slow and don't seem in a hurry. However the covered parking and elevators is very quick and easy. The rooms have everything you need including very comfortable beds, free internet, in room fridge with drinks and snacks, etc. The workout rooms is well equipped and the locker rooms have a nice sauna and steam room. The food at Wendell's is very good and I highly recommend the elk. All in all an excellent place to stay compared to anything else within a few hours drive.

Room Tip: ALWAYS pay the few extra bucks for a lake view room. The mountain views will get you a view of the...

We stayed here five nights and had a very good time. Four of us stayed in a suite facing the lake, so the view was gorgeous. There was a king size bed in one room and a queen size sleeper sofa in the other. We slept on the sleeper sofa and it was fine, naturally not as comfortable as a conventionally sized mattress but acceptable. The furniture seemed quite worn but that was not a big concern of mine. The bathtub was huge and the shower was nice, with a high shower head and plenty of hot water. Toiletries were good quality. WiFi was unfortunately spottier than I would have liked. Almost every hotel worker we encountered was very pleasant. We used the fitness room, which was reasonably well stocked and sizable. The pool and hot tub looked great but we didn't use them. I enjoyed the fitness trail on the property and also walking (partway) around the lake. The casino is a decent size--not on par of course with major Vegas properties but more than adequate for light to moderate gambling. My husband did well but then again he knows when to walk away . . . . Parking was easy and convenient. We did not eat on the property so cannot comment on the restaurant. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a beautiful view of the lake from our room. Room was spacious and comfortable. Valet personnel were very nice and helpful. Only thing that I did not like about the hotel was that when you walk in you are assaulted by cigarette smoke. I am very anti-smoking and it was awful to walk in to that. I wish that they had a non-smoking casino.

I stayed at the Inn so that I didn't have to worry about parking or driving after a concert there. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
The room service was outstanding, brought our food in less time than expected. The food was very good.
This time I had a room that faced toward the front of the Inn, if you go, try to get a room that faces the lake and mountains. It is a much better view.
I went there for a concert. The show was good, only downside was that it only lasted an hour. I felt it was short for the cost. The sound system for the show works well for the venue. It is not as intimate as a bar but more intimate than an arena or stadium.
After the show, we went to the lounge for a couple of drinks. This was strange. I got two drinks from the bartender and than another two from a waitress. For the same drinks, I was charged a dollar more for each drink at the bar than by the waitress.
Overall the stay was wonderful and relaxing.

The drive into the Inn of the Mountain Gods is just magnificent, and the resort didn't fail to meet our rising expectations. When my husband approached the check-in counter, leaning heavily on his cane due to a bad hip, the receptionist noted that she had no rooms near the elevators and asked if we wanted to upgrade to a lake view room so that my husband wouldn't need to walk so far. We immediately agreed, checked in, and were instantly assisted with our bags by a woman valet who was much stronger than she looked.

Our room was perfect, and the view was splendid. We spent two nights here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We ate both nights at the Gathering of Nations Buffet and were pleased each time. The casino was lots of fun - not too smoky for us non-smokers - and the slots were just loose enough to keep it interesting.

When we discovered we had no hot water in our room the second night due to some repairs being made upstairs, the hotel immediately deducted $50 from our total and offered to move us. I was just too tired to go anywhere, so we remained in our room.

Our checkout was painless and another valet came right up to our room to help us with our luggage. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and we can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the lake. They're a little more expensive, but it's worth it!

The rooms here are very nice and the view is fantastic!! The very large, well furnished rooms are as better than most resorts. The staff, from front desk to maids are extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Even though I only live an 1 1/2 hrs away I have stayed here a number of times and really enjoyed it each time. There is a fantastic restuarant, Wendell's, and decent buffer located in the resort. Recommend the Inn to anyone.

Room Tip: request a room with a balcony with a view of the lake

I wrote a review last year on this hotel and again, this year we found the place to be excellent in every way. Their dining options are excellent, including the Buffet, which has gormet choices galore. Wendells Restaurant has excellent dining for breakfast, lunch and supper. I had a need for a rehearsal room at 10:00 pm this past Sunday night, and the front desk made a heroic effort to meet our need, and even assisted us with moving the equipment. The Mescaleros are extremely friendly and are excellent hosts at this resort. There is a nice lake just yards from the hotel and the Brown Trout fishing is very good. Casino is great and just prior to our visit, a guest won $114,000 !! The rooms are very nice with superior beds and bed linens( per my wife who knows about these things ). We had a great time!

Room Tip: The best views of the lake and the mountains are from the rooms in the center of the hotel, rather t...
