We spent 2 nights here in one of the new rooms with a small kitchen and a fireplace. We had a wonderful time relaxing in various pools, feeling silly and wonderful walking around the place in our provided bathrobes. The new rooms are pricey, and I don't think I'd pay that much again. They are elegant but small. I'd try a less expensive older room.
The restaurant is wonderful--good, creative food and good wine.

We are so pleased to know that you enjoyed your recent visit and appreciate your feedback!
It may interest you to know that all lodging rates include springs access every day a guest stays at Ojo including the day of arrival (prior to check-in) and after check-out on the day of departure. This represents a value of $72 for a one-night’s stay mid-week and $112 on weekends and holidays, based on double occupancy. In addition, guests lodging in our suites have access to our beautiful new private Kiva Pool with extended soaking hours.

We are constantly striving to create the best value possible to our guests, and to ensure a relaxing and healing experience here at Ojo. Thank you again for your compliments. We look forward to your next visit!

I just returned from a 3-day trip to Ojo Caliente, and I'm already planning my next trip back! The whole experience was so relaxing and rejuvenating. My best friend and I stayed in one of the cottages. It was a little run-down, but the beds were comfortable. Some new paint and new shower heads would be great. The first day we went for a 6-mile run/hike through the beautiful mountain trails, then had a delicious lunch. The Yoga class was wonderful, then we had massages and foot reflexology treatments. It was the best massage I have ever had! We soaked in the pools and had a delicious dinner. The next day was the same fabulous routine with a mud wrap and hot oil hair treatment. Heavenly spa treatments with reasonable prices. We drove to Taos (about 50 minute drive), saw some beautiful scenery and had a wonderful meal. The staff at Ojo Caliente were all very friendly and helpful. It is a very serene and spiritual place, perfect to reconnect with a friend or just have some time for yourself. Overall a wonderful experience!!

Yes, the prices might seem steep, but when you factor in the cost of unlimited access to the exceptional pools as well as other services like the sauna and steam room, the cost begins to justify itself. For one night stay, you get two days of access to the pools (after you check out, you're free to use the pools for a second day). I thought that this was generous of them to throw in. I also noted that they provide a wide range of accommodations to serve various budgets.

Once you justify the cost, the experience is totally worth it. We stayed in a Pueblo suite: quite a large adobe structure (soundproof) with kiva fireplace and pretty well equipped kitchenette. The pools are the best part, though: the waters aren't chlorinated--something very rare. Ojo Caliente filters and UV-treats their water. I haven't found a place that offers so many types of mineral pools that don't have chlorine. The suite rooms have access to a private pool as well: it was quiet, large, and a perfect place to peer up at the night's stars. After a day's soaking, I feel terrific: calm yet invigorated.

A few suggestions: rooms should be equipped with phones; some people don't have cellphones or don't have cellphones that work out of country (if we needed anything, we had to trudge to the reception building). Needless to say, there's no service. I also found that the restaurant on site closed rather early: we would have loved a drink and snack at the end of the day's soaking, but perhaps they just don't have the numbers to justify extending the hours. A limited menu from 10-11 (and room service) would have been welcome.

This is a special place; we fell in love with it and are hoping to come back again.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa.

We have carefully considered installing telephones in guest rooms, but have chosen at this time not to do so in keeping with the tradition of the mineral springs and the nature of a healing retreat. Our guests can request assistance of our Front Desk staff as needed, and there is a public pay phone located in front of the hotel for guests to use. In addition, we recently installed a third party cell phone tower for the convenience of our guests so that they may use their cell phones while staying with us. We are also considering having pre-paid phone cards available for our guests for both domestic and international calling from our phone booth.

The Artesian Restaurant is open during the summer season until 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Wine Bar has slightly longer hours, being open until 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Our guest experience is very important to us and we appreciate your kind feedback. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.
Sincerely,

My long-term friend and I began a "girlfriends" trip to New Mexico with a night at Ojo Caliente. How delightful to relax in the Arsenic Pool and feel my aches and pains melt away! Granted, it's the hottest pool, and I could only stay in it about 20 minutes. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the on-site Artesian restaurant, as well as a leisurely stroll around the grounds. So quiet and peaceful! Restful night in our room, then breakfast in the restaurant, followed by a dip in each of the Cliffside Pools. Heavenly! The Mud Pool had just opened, so we tried it, but the morning was a little cool to sit and allow the mud to dry properly. After washing off in the warm showers at the Mud Pool we took another dip in the Cliffside Pools and finished up with the Arsenic Pool. A thoroughly delightful experience, and we were free of aches and pains for days! Next time we may make Ojo Caliente our base and travel around from there.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Historic Hotel. Very comfortable and quiet.

This is a place to go if you need to do serious unwinding or just want to pamper yourself! We stayed in the old historical hotel for one night - might be difficult for more than a night since bathrooms don't have showers. However it was fine, we liked the traditional decor. The bed was very comfy. It was clean and well kept. We loved every minute of our stay. And...it's all about the pools! they are so healing, and lovely and relaxing. I love the whisper policy, as it ensures you have quiet and peace while soaking. It's so nice to soak, then sit in the sun for a bit, then soak some more. I have never been so relaxed. I still feel the effects a week later! We enjoyed the restaurant and the wine bar as well. Would highly recommend Ojo Caliente resort and spa.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and recommendation! We are so pleased to know that you enjoyed the special atmosphere and healing waters here at Ojo.

As you may know, the Historic Hotel was built in 1916 and the hotel rooms are our entry level of our many lodging types; they do not have the same amenities as our newer units and that some of our guests are looking for. That being said, all of our Historic Hotel rooms feature the original ½ baths, and guests shower in the main bathhouse in the springs area. Showers or tub/shower combos, microwaves, mini-refrigerators, in-room coffee and tea, and satellite TV are provided in our cottages and suites. Throughout the process of renovating and expanding our facilities, we have been careful to maintain the historic nature of the hotel and springs, and to provide a wide variety of lodging price points for our guests.

For your next visit, you may wish to lodge in one of our beautiful suites, which feature large flat-screen televisions, kitchenettes, and access to our beautiful new Kiva Pool. Our Pueblo and Cliffside Suites offer Kiva fireplaces, and the Cliffside Suites feature private outdoor soaking tubs.

Thank you again for your kind remarks. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

We were led to this place by spirit and only made a day trip of it. Only 1 hour from Sante fe. But we have decided we would drive 3 days to come and hang at this place. The environment is totally relaxing and the whisper policy is divine. Lots of hiking trails up desert rock. Then we came down played in the mud pool, had a signature massage and foot reflexology package, and hung out in the pools.

Next time we will spend a few days right at the resort. Reasonably priced, service excellent.

Room Tip: We didn't stay here, but will next time

This was my first trip to the Ojo spa, and I found it magical. My daughter and I treated ourselves to the Ojo Escape package which made for 4 days of total relaxation. We stayed in the Plaza suites which were done in very nice authentic New Mexican decor, were well equipped with a kitchenette, had all amenities in the bath, and unlimited access to a Kiva pool right outside our back door. Our package afforded us treatments, facials, massages, soaks in numerous pools fed by hot springs (iron, soda, arsenic), and FANTASTIC food which was very reasonably priced. There are also yoga classes and trails for leisurely strolls, hikes, and/or bicycle rides. The smell of the burning pinon wood in all the kivas adds to the wonderful amibance.

Room Tip: The Plaza suites were great....
