“Pleasurable stay in Quidhampton”
Reviewed 6 July 2012

We had a really good welcome at Quidhampton Mill when we stayed in May 2012. The bedroom was small but beautifully furnished and good sized en suite bathroom. Breakfast was excellent and before we left we were given a fabulous cream tea - try out Lesa's baking!
The Mill is very central for many places to visit, Wilton House is next door and Bournemouth just an hour away. Close to the delights of Salisbury and the beautiful countryside round about. Lesa and Martin very friendly and helpful and willing to spend time with the guests answering questions etc.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have large patio doors.

We stayed at the Quidhampton Mill for two nights - The place is wonderful. Very close to Salisbury town but in a very rural setting. The rooms are super comfortable, clean and charming. The house is well located for visits to Stonehenge, Old Sarum, Salisbury town and Salisbury Cathedral. Our hosts Lesa and Martin could not have been more welcoming. Lesa was specially helpful - even before we left the US she had sent us various options for activities in the area.- She's GREAT with directions and suggestions for places to eat! Breakfast was really large and delicious. Its the kind of place we will try our best to return to.

Room Tip: Loft room is charming, but if you dont want stairs ask for the Bolt Hole

Quidhampton Mill is a purpose built B and B on the outskirts of Salisbury. It has ample secure parking, private access to the rooms and a peaceful, rural outlook.
Lesa and Martin are gracious and helpful hosts and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. From the time of booking online from Australia, Lesa was extremely helpful sending me suggestions for attractions to see in the area and keeping me up to date with events taking place in the locality during of our stay.
We were offered a welcoming afternoon tea on arrival. Breakfasts, sourced from local products, are delicious, a variety of choices are offered, and it is served in a comfortable dining room.
The rooms are modern, clean and tastefully appointed. We stayed in the Cabin but would choose a larger room if staying again as there was not a lot of space to move around once luggage was brought into the room.
We used Quidhampton Mill as a base to explore further afield - Beaulieu Motor Museum, the New Forest and Avebury with its amazing stone circle are within easy driving distance. Close at hand are Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge.
A lovely place to stay.

Room Tip: The Cabin whilst comfortable is quite small - choose a larger room if you like to spread out.

This was the first B&B mMy wife and I stayed here during our England vacation and it set a high standard. The room we had was fine, perhaps smaller than we would have liked, but was comfortable, clean, and had all amenities. What distinguishes Quidhapmton Mill is the hosts, Lesa and Martin. They are very friendly and outgoing, interesting people, easy to engage, and make their guests feel welcome. From the afternoon tea to handwritten directions, restaurant recommendations, and sending us to the Wilton House, they were engaged in making sure we enjoyed our stay with them while we visited Salisbury. I should also mention that the breakfasts we had were excellent, well proportioned, and there were options each morning. They also extended an unexpected hospitality (which I won't explain, lest others expect it too!) that was very much appreciated.

We visited Quidhampton Mill for 2 days in May. We have been a few times over the past year and we love going back. Lesa and Martin were again extremely welcoming and really went out of their way to make sure our trip was easy and enjoyable. We stayed in the Cabin which is a really lovely, comfortable room. The food is fantastic and the blueberry pancakes are not to be missed! We took advantage of their deal with the local health club, the Parkwood. The club is lovely and modern with great facilities, and is definitely worth checking out. We spent a nice, relaxing morning in the pool/steam room etc. and there is also a gym and beauty treatments on offer. We would highly recommend both Quidhampton Mill and the Parkwood!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely, the Cabin is perfect for couples.

My friend and I stayed one night in a cold and blustery June.

The warm welcome, hot bath and cream tea made us feel very welcome.

The offer of dinner suggestions, fabulous choice of breakfast, spotlessly clean and very realxing surroundings, meant we had a great time, and staying here was certainly one of the highlights of our trip!

I am very happy to recommend them and I very rarely give top marks, but am very happy to on this occassion.

I'll be back!

And yes thanks we are now all safely back to where we came from!
