“made our eat in order to go & it was cold and soggy”
Reviewed 21 March 2013

We went here for my birthday dinner, we are new to the area and wanted to try somewhere different. We were seated in an area with 2 other occupied tables. Our server came and took drink orders, the drinks came 10 min later (no biggie, we weren't in a hurry). He took our orders, meanwhile 5 more tables were filled and their server was on top of it, he was hustling and working hard to take orders and fill drinks. Well after 2 of his tables had their orders and were done, we had still not gotten ours (another table near ours with our server had the same problem). We looked for our server and after 45 minutes never saw him so we asked another server, she went to find him meanwhile the other server in our area (fast and hard working) told us that our server placed our order to go and it had been sitting there, he told our server but our server never came back until managment talked to him. after about an hour he brought our food to us in styrafoam to go containers, gave us $10 off our $50 bill and said sorry. by the time we ate it our food was cold and soggy. In retrospect we should have refused our food and gone to taco bell, unfortunate to say.
THE only reason i didn't rate this as terrible is because i saw other servers busting it out to help their tables and i think the green chilie was fine.
For sodas you only get 1 refill and for a $2 soda that seems steep. You get one basket of chips which was fine and the salsa was pretty good.
We won't go back and we won't recommend anyone even try it.
Also we aren't used to smoking at restaurants and there is smoking outside on the patio :( NO smoking inside which is why we went in.
Parking is very difficult too. the lot may be full but it's not full inside

“Wonderful~”
Reviewed 22 February 2013

Stopped by here for lunch today on the spur of the moment. Haven't been here for quite awhile. Today I was really happy with the menu and the food. There are several choices of meat that I've never even seen on a menu here in Albuquerque before. I ordered some simple chicken tacos, but wow, the flavor was so great . . . and this place serves Mexican, as well as New Mexican food. I'm a California girl and have really been missing my rice and beans since we moved here 5 years ago! The lightly fried tortillas were a soft golden brown and so tasty with the shredded meat, finely shredded lettuce and finely chopped tomatoes. Something as simple as a Taco was suddenly made new again. My husband had the Menudo, which he said was great once again. He'll come by and pick some up to go from time to time. Didn't sample the beer today because we had more errands to run . . . but next time for sure. There's only one negative, and that is the very slow service, yet all of the food is cooked to order, so the little bit of extra wait isn't a problem. Besides, their fresh chips and salsa are superb, so just come prepared to munch and chat. The customer service was delightful - everyone was very nice. It's an out of the way little spot (just across the street from the north end of the Intel building, on Sara Road); simple to find and so very worth the effort.
