We stayed at the Lodge in July 2009 and have just returned for another stay. Everything was just perfect and it is impossible to have any criticism of this lodge. The service, food, accommodation and game drives are all just amazing, a huge effort is made by everyone to give you a truly memorable stay. Highly recommend, you will not regret it!

Having read the reviews our expectations were already very high but the whole Dulini experience proved itself even more wonderful. The lodges are luxurious and the food gourmet. Everyone you meet goes so much further than they need to make your stay special. Ian and Sue, the owners, even suggested that my husband may like to watch the World Cup on their TV. Our Ranger Patrick and tracker Tyrone are so talented and yes we managed to see the Big Five and so much more. My personal highlight was watching a leopardess with her young cubs as she introduced them to climbing trees and amazingly that they should not be afraid of the vehicle. It seems that getting up close and personal to the vehicles is being passed from Mother to cubs. If you are thinking of going on safari I would strongly suggest that you contact very soon as Dulini get booked up very quickly.

Room Tip: The only real tip to make your stay better is if you choose to stay during the winter months take warm clothes and plan to layer up as early morning drives are very chilly even with the ponchos, blankets and hot water bottles provided.

From the moment of arrival it is first class all the way. The location, the game drives, the food, all absolutely fantastic. Then there are the rooms or should I say suites. magnificently located along the river where Elephants graze outside your door each with butler service, they have to be the best rooms in Africa. The meals are simply fantastic and the total experience is a delight of suprise upon suprise in each and every way. I tried to re book for a visit with another friend a couple of weeks later but it was totally booked out. Why am I not suprised! This lodge is an absolute stunner, book now you will never regret it.

There are no words to describe our experience at Dulini Lodge. We kept pinching ourselves to make sure our stay was not a dream. On our third day we had an elephant visit us and have a drink out of our plunge pool...what else is there to say? If you can, book for four nights!!!!

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room!

To describe Dulini in one word…. wow! It was the final stop on our first trip to South Arica, and it sure was an incredible way to end such a magnificent two weeks. For those reading the reviews to determine whether to stay here, we’ll make it easy for you. Do it. Here’s why:

The people:
You couldn’t wish to meet more inviting, friendly and fascinating people than the staff at Dulini. Poppy greets you on arrival and is a great indication of the quality of interaction you will receive during your stay. Maurice was a true character who didn’t rest until every need was met. Our ranger, Dynamosi, and tracker, Isaac, were the absolute pinnacle of our South Africa experience. Their experience and knowledge were second to none and we were mesmerised by the stories they shared. A special treat every morning was the Isaac special – we have tried to recreate it at home with some Duty Free bought Amarula, but it doesn’t even come close! To this day we still quote Dynamosi (“guys, this is very nice”) whenever we share a fun moment. We were very sad to say good-bye. When you meet and spend time with the owners, Iain and Sue, it’s no surprise that Dulini have some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

The area:
Sabi Sands is a smorgasbord of South Africa’s finest creatures. We saw the Big Five, and then some! A male lion stalking a pack of wild dogs was an absolute treat. If you have a request they will pull all of the stops to deliver. Even if you don’t find a cheetah you have fun along the way : ) The property isn’t fenced so you will have the pleasure of stepping out of your door to a group of grazing Kudu, or if you’re lucky, something even better!

The food
All meals were a terrific mix of flavours and cuisines. It was great to be able to experience the local cooking and produce. The dinners were all interesting, dynamic and engaging – each night a different experience. We also thoroughly enjoyed the caramel fudge that Maurice provided for us. It’s all the small things that make it that much more special.
