The staff was super nice and friendly, specially the hostess Thalita and some game drivers!
The food was excellent and the environment was perfect.
The room was simple and clean. Somedays we had breakfast with the monkeys and other wild animals.
The staff for dinner was extremely sympathetic and nice.
I stayed 3 nights and 4 days and I enjoyed so much. They make it easy to interact with others travelers, making the trip even more fun.
I strongly recommend this lodge.

Even though I came up on my own I was made very welcome and quickly bonded with other travellers. Every night the delicious hot home made soup and bread was a welcome starter to a great meal. The guides on the night drives, bush walks, day drives to Kruger clearly have a genuine love and passion for the animals and bush life around them. It seems unfair to name names but a special thank you to Bongani & Wes - especially getting up early on Saturday morning to show us the Lion cubs he had found the previous night; and to Raymond for some unforgettable drives in Kruger - the big five; a lion kill, white rhino and wild dogs being chased by gnu. A visit to Moholoholo was a great learning experience and an opportunity to see a honey badger. At breakfast you never know what animals are coming to the water hole so it was a good idea to have a camera at all times! It was an awesome unforgettable experience; thanks to all!!

Hi Helen

Thanks for taking the time to write a great review ! We are pleased that you enjoyed your return visit. I am glad that you found our guides to be passionate about their work - this is a very important contributing part of the success of VIVA SAFARIS.

You were exceptionally fortunate in seeing a lion kill ! One of your co-safari guests took a video of this kill and it is now posted on the Home Page of www.vivasafaris.com. Great sighting too of Gnu chasing Wild Dogs - it isn't seen every day !

I hope that on your third visit you will have such great luck !

Kind regards

We spent one night in the lodge as part of our honeymoon. The staff were extremely friendly and both the night drive safari and bush trail walk were an incredible experience. The knowledge of the game rangers was remarkable and both my wife and I learnt an awful lot in a short period of time. Highly recommended !

Hi Nick

Thanks for making the effort in writing such a good review.

The title " Brilliant place; Fantastic staff " says it all !

I am pleased that you enjoyed everything especially the Sunset Drive and 4 hour Bush Walk - these are both invaluable activities that greatly help in selling our safaris.

Kind regards

Viva Safaris gave us an unforttable experience during our visit - starting with our tranfer from Johannesburg with our driver Thabo - what a friendly man. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay at Tremisana Lodge. Our family can't stop talking about it. We were there on 4 day Safari. Looking back, we wish we had booked a longer stay. Everything exceeded our expectations - the welcome, hospitality and royal treatment that we were given by Thalitha and Nyarai. Superior customer service Ladies. You are wonderful people. Than you for making our stay so wonderful. The food was delicious. Very friendly kitchen staff. The evening game drive with Raymond was amazing. The informative conversations that Raymond has with tourists are very educational. We managed to see 4 of the big five in one evening. The morning bush walks with Bongani and Patric and the knowledge Bongani shared with us was amazing. The accommodation/rooms/facilities were also very good. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back. Stanley Khumalo - Cape Town.

The safari was completely planned out for us, which was nice because we had no knowledge at all about safaris. Breakfast and dinner was included, lunches were quite cheap overall and the food was of good quality. The safaris were exciting, also thanks to our good guide (Patrick), and you get to see both the "real" Kruger as well as the private game reserves. Realize that private game reserves might be less real life safari, but at least you get to see a lot of animals :) The drives during the morning and afternoon were better compared to the sunset drive. And a special thanks to Thalitha and Nyaraj who organized everything very well and answered all our questions!

This trip was amazing. The lodge is fantastic and the people are VERY FRIENDLY. They do not have options for food, if you do not like that, u r in trouble. In case of urgency, always take some cookies with you. They have a bar where you can buy some beers, soda and water. Not expensive.
In my point of view, do not book the tree house because it's no so comfortable and a bit cold during the winter. However, it is more "old style" and you can enjoy it.
Pay attention for one thing. When you a 4 days of safari, remember that the first and last day you most spend traveling from/to Johannesburg. In the first day, you can have one evening safari (2/3 hours) and 1 hour in the last day. In resume, you are booking a 2 FULL days safari. Pay attention for that.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a comfort place, do not book the tree houses, choose the lodge.

Hi Renato

Thanks for taking the time to write a review.
I am thrilled that you found the lodge fantastic and the staff friendly.
I understand your concern regarding the time taken in travelling from Johannesburg to Kruger and back.
To ensure their safety, we collect each and every client from the front door of the hotel and this adds a little time. We also abide strictly by the labour laws governing drivers who must be given a rest period at lunchtime of one hour.
Perhaps next time you may consider our FLY IN options - it takes a lot less time but one loses out on the landdcape and scenery.

Kind regards

The location and lodge are great! Spent two nights at this lodge as part of our safari tour we booked (went to Marc's Treehouse afterwards; this hotel made for a good "transition" to the following hotel which has even more animals and is more in the forest). The rooms and grounds were well kept, clean and absolutely beautiful. There are monkeys who seem to spend some time on the hotel grounds during the day and animals come around the lodge (on the other side of the fence). We went on a sunset drive and morning walk which were both amazing, informative and interesting. We saw two giraffes, four lions, many hippos and various other animals.

The staff was helpful and knowledgeable, Patrick and Dominic were great!!! The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) we were provided were also really good and they were able to accomodate my dietary restrictions!
