Naledi Bushcamp and Enkoveni Camp
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 5 December 2012

We had the most amzing holiday. We will have a life time of memories from Naledi. The service the owners and staff provided was exceptional way above our expectations. Our game drive guide and tracker Sydwell and Vujani were fantastic. They are two of the most friendly, likable, knowledgable people to have track and share the animals with. There is only one thing to complain about and that is that we had to leave. We would not hesitate in recommending Neladi and the experience we were given.
Thanks to everyone at Neladi. We hope to return there again.

We had a great experience here, thanks to the people at Naledi Enkoveni. Rozanne and Shaun were very hospitable. Our game drive guide and tracker was amazing - Sydwell and Vujani. We had an incredible stay here, would highly recommend it!

We came to Kruger to experience the land and animals (I had the land penchant and my wife the animals). We had a great experience as winter was just turning to spring. Each day brought different skies, lighting, and weather (including a rainstorm that was well needed to kick off the spring grass growing - the benefit of which we received on our last day when the grazers were much more relaxed around each other). Kjell and the staff were wonderfully supportive of our interests and pushed us as we like pushing by starting early at sunrise and staying out past sunset every night (a must as the stars are fantastic in the limited man-made light in the vicinity. Great schedule). Wonderful people. Lovely memories for my wife and me for a lifetime. Very accommodating of our unique tastes (adventuresome vegetarian) and conversation topics (keen interest in everything we do shared at mealtime discussions). Thanks to all.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderful

Hands down, Naledi was the highlight of our trip to South Africa. The lodge and views are stunning and even more impressive is the service the owners and staff provide which was truly exceptional! The food was absolutely fantastic and they really do go above an beyond to give you a one of a kind experience. The safari tours were also the best I experienced among all the other camps I stayed at. We were 5 feet away from lions, buffalo, rhino, etc. During the walking tour, the guide educated us on all the plants and tress and the medical benefits they have. Everything had a purpose to cure something. This camp is worth every penny, and i can't say enough good things about it!

Our group of five adults - 3 60's, 2 30's - had a wonderful time at Enkoveni. We were cordially greeted and escorted to the camp by Vuyani, who was our tracker during our two-day safari. The timing of the arrival was great, just in time for a 2 PM luncheon on the terrace overlooking the Olifant River. After getting settled in, we left for our first safari around 4, where we saw giraffes, elephants, and lions. Around sunset we had a happy hour in the wild, with drinks and portable tables. After finding a group of lionesses hunting at night, we went back to camp for a wonderful dinner under the stars. And that was just our first half-day!

Shaun has an amazing knowledge of wild game, geography, history, and almost anything you want to ask. Vuyani was friendly, outgoing, and a wealth of information, particularly regarding native herbal medicine and tracking. Rozanne was a wonderful hostess and made all of us feel specially welcomed.

The accommodations were clean and very spacious, food was excellent, and the location overlooking the river was exotic. We didn't even mind the 5 AM wake-up call, since we had the middle of the day to relax before the evening safari. We were there in September, a little before the peak summer season. The temperatures were pleasant - a little chilly in the early morning, but the blankets provided were good insulation - and the game visible, before the trees and grasses totally filled in.

Room Tip: The Tusker Room was originally a reception area, so it is very spacious and decorated in the style o...

What can you say about perfection in accomadation, atmosphere and adventure! This is the place to be when going to Greater Kruger National Park.

Rozanne and Shaun were so friendly and made as feel like one of the family, sharing stories at the dinner table and out on safari, even the POO expendition was fantastic, we didn't realise how different animals can "poo".

Now if you think you are coming here to compare with the Lion King movie, believe me it is not the same, it is realistic and adreline charged. The zebra's are not like Madagasca either, nor are the elephants like "jungle book", but they do hold each others tails, this was amazing.

It may of been cold and wet when we went but the warm poncho's, blankets and hot water bottles each morning out on safari where outstanding, there was nothing that Shaun and Rozanne, had not thought about!. The thunder claps were just like an earth quake, you had to experience the sensation, it was like you were up close and personal.

Shaun and our tracker made us laugh and we ended up looking for animals as hole heartedly as we turned out heads, from side to side until "there out of the bushes came a leopard", or was it... you will have to come here and see for your self. Leopard Turtles and the big 5 and don't forget the "impala" the are the ones with the "McDonald shaped butts", you won't be disapointed. Coming back of a night time after safari to warm towels and refreshment, was such a special touch especially when the elephants back back to the 4x4 and broke wind on the 6 of us, was well an experience that we still talk about today.

Remember to hold on to your seat, as the track can be lot of fun, especially when Shaun saws "watch out for the wait a minute tree"..... it grabs you!

Sister and Max cooked as meals fit for kings and queens, presentation and the taste was outstanding, you will not be disappointed.

Leaving here was very difficult as we actually made new friends and enjoyed our stay so much.

Comparing here to Bottswana and Zimbarwee in accomadation Naledi wins hands down with the animals up close and personal this was an experience we will never forget and are still talking about today to our friends and anyone that wants to listen, we get goose bumps as a reminder!

When comparing stories to other tourist in Joahannsberg our adventure totally out weighed theirs as some had not seen any of the big 5. Shaun thank you !

We will be back and staying here, Ian, Kim and Leonie (OMG)!

Room Tip: Any room would be fantastic as this accomadation and lodge has personal touches and views, that you...

OMG - We were greeted at the Lodge by Rozanne with open arms on arrival which continued our whole stay. The view from our room was amazing, Elephants were roaming across the river, how special were we, some people come to Africa who don't see any or some animals, we saw animals within the 1st 5 minutes, and then everyday afterward in our 4 nights/5 day stay in September.

The room, food, the Company where over my expectations! Just unbelievable!

I would recommend to stay at Naledi Private Game Lodge to anyone, as it was in my view a 10 star lodge, with staff that are passionate about how you experience Africa with the animals and the environment.

Shaun's safari trips are unbelievable as long as you don't stand up in the vehicle. I learnt very fast to listen especially with the elephants, as they broke wind on us one night! One of the funny experiences was to be that close and the smell....... Phew! Another was the Lion, Lioness and her cubs eating a buffalo we sat for 2 hours in ore of the wild life.

My experience will be with me forever and I will return. Next time will go in non raining season, this didn't dampen my stay at all it actually made it more adventure driven.......

The food was fantastic Al- A-carte, and I love my food.

Shaun and Rozanne it is a credit to you and the staff and I will be back. Best experience of my life. HAVE THE PHOTO'S TO PROOF IT.....

Room Tip: We over looked the river and the pool. The suite was a 2 bedroom, with plenty of room and was absolu...
