“Wonderfully hospitable”
Reviewed 26 October 2013

Staying at Sausage Tree is like staying with friends, as the owners and staff are gracious hosts. The accommodations and food are excellent, and the game drives are unforgettable. A member of our family has food allergies, and the staff were very accommodating. We would definitely go back.

Safely back in Australia after 2 weeks in South Africa with "Imagine Africa Tours". Wonderful hosts and exciting safari drives, culminating in a week at the fabulous "Sausage Tree Safari Camp". What an experience......Sonia and James hosting us, along with all the staff, made us feel extremely welcome ....it was like being part of a big family. Nothing was too much effort for any of them and their hospitality was extended to us in a friendly and a very professional manner. The meals that Orlando our chef prepared were exceptional....breakfast, lunch, dinner and even nibbles for "sundowners" out in the bush was great. Liam and Themba were amazing on the game drives and were always keen for us to see as much as we could....and succeeded with all of the BIG 5 and plenty more! Our rooms were fabulous and each time we came back to our room after a drive, it was all prepared/cleaned exceptionally well and looked inviting, and at night the bedside lighting on gave that extra special ambience. The pool was a welcome place in the heat and the different eating areas were lovely, and what a bonus, being able to watch the animals come to the waterhole. We loved sharing time in this fabulous place. Janet

Have arrived home in Australia after spending the last six nights, of our fifteen day safari at Sausage Tree Safari Camp. Many thanks to James for great game drives and assistance around the camp: also thanks to Sonya who made our stay an exceptional experience. Orlando also be complimented for providing excellent cuisine for each and every meal.

Finally, a very special thanks to Liam and Themba who managed to show us the "Big 5" in a three hour game drive and topping it off with a sighting of a lioness and her six week old cubs on our final drive. A truly magical sighting. I am sure they can talk to the animals.

A small and intimate camp, Sausage Tree is the ideal camp for those wishing to become better acquainted with one's hosts. An all round Five Star experience.

We just experienced a week at Sausage Tree as part of a 2 week trip with associated company, Imagine Africa. What a sensational experience! The guides, camp staff and facilities were simply first class. Meals were freshly prepared and fabulous. The management team's attention to detail is what makes this an ideal holiday destination. The game drives delivered sightings of all the big 5 amongst many others and will be forever etched in our minds. Thank you Sausage Tree for the best ever holiday.

This was our first experience of a Safari and we chose to stay at this small and intimate camp for two nights. We enjoyed four wonderful drives into the bush with James at the wheel and Themba as our guide. We were rewarded with sightings of a wonderful array of game and wildlife!
The tented accommodation was extremely comfortable and all the meals were superb!
We were made to feel very welcome by Sonja, James and their staff. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere and luxurious facilities added to our enjoyment.
We would highly recommend Sausage Tree Camp

Must say this was one of the best part of our South Africa holiday. Sonja and James make for a perfect host and the entire experience was very professional yet personal. Liam is a very good ranger and each one of the 4 drives that we had was brilliant.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at the camp and Sonja was sweet enough to get a cake baked for her. The hosts take personal attention to make the guests comfortable .

Must say that we felt like a family for the 2 nights that we were there at the camp. Another thing to mention is the wonderful food at the camp. Ornaldo is a terrific cook and each one of his meals was excellent.

Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a homely place in the middle of the forest ,amidst all the fascinating animals and with all the required amenities.

We had an amazing trip and Sausage Tree played a big role. The staff is amazing, the lodging is very nice, the food is way above average and exceptional at times. Sausage Tree is set up for 8 guests and this allows you to get to know the other guests and the staff. Both the Safari Time and the down time were enjoyable. We had some amazing viewing including the scarce black rhino a few times including one time it came within 10 feet of our land cruiser. The WiFi in the lodge is a plus for keeping up. Bottom line, if you plan to take a Safari in South Africa this is the place to go. The price is reasonable and the experience is very special. This was recommeded by a friend and we could not be more pleased.
