“James and Sonya are the best!”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We had a wonderful experience at Sausage Tree Safari Camp. Our tent was a wonderful mix of authentic and luxurious! The whole place has a family feel...Jame's woke us up each morning at 5:30 am by hollaring "good morning!" from the path outside our tent. The game drives were amazing and life changing. James is an expert and easily shares his knowledge in both english and french. The food was yummy! Sonya was attentive and kind and warm. I would recommend Sausage Tree to anyone wanting a safari experience.

Stayed for a couple of days prior to a riding safari, recommended by our travel company "In the Saddle". It proved to be a wonderful start to our adventure. Everyone was so welcoming, the food was excellent and the tented accommodation was spacious and comfortable.
Our guide, Liam was brilliant and we had plenty of exciting sightings of elephant, lion and much more.
This is a little gem of a place not to be overlooked.

I have been to Sausage Tree a couple of times now. Its a great place for a first safari .. or for a long weekend. The lodge is small, intimate, and a family affair. Liam is a fantastic and enthusiastic ranger. Balule is a great reserve, with lots of diversity and a good opportunity to see the big 5. The rooms are very nice, and the food is good. The only downside is the long time before the morning and the afternoon drive .. I tend to get a bit bored, but lots of people I sure appreciate it.

Our stay at Sausage Tree by far exceeded all my expectations. The tour guides (shoutout to Liam) are so knowlegeable and make the game drives so much fun. The staff showed such hospitality and really made us all feel welcome and created a very homely atmosphere. The food....AMAZING! 5 star quality. Thank you so much to everyone at Sausage Tree for the memories and for the amazing time you gave us. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to go on a safari! By far the best accomodation I have ever stayed in

Wonderful little Camp close to the Krueger National Park. We spent only two short days at Sausage tree, but nevertheless we felt like staying with friends and not like clients. It is an amazing place to be and you definitely don´t want to leave. A big thanks to Sonja and James for sharing their little paradise with us!

Our stay at Sausage Tree was perfect and better than we could have imagined. The owners and their staff treated us like family. They even catered to my special diet needs. The food there is out of this world! Thank you so much! We highly recommend this guest camp and can think of nothing but accolades for it.

3 nights, 4 days; 23 animals, 41 birds, plus reptiles, amphibians, astounding insects, and gigantic snails. Tents with perfect beds, outstanding food, skillfully mixed gin and tonics and delightful safari companions. Our safari was more than we ever imagined and one we hope to repeat.
