I've just returned from a week at Monwana and was blown away by the experience. The game sightings courtesy of Ryan, Carl, Morris and Celebrate were amazing. We were placed front row on most every drive to the animals while Ryan and Carl generously offered information on the animals and patiently answered question after question from the guests. The accommodations were well appointed and the staff invisibly tidied the rooms each time you turned your head. The quality of the meals was unexpected. Each meal seemed to top the previous in both quality and quantity. I had expected camp food and was treated to fine dining at each turn. The staff was amazing and genuinely seemed to enjoy their part in making your experience the best possible. Karen seamlessly orchestrated each event from massages to meals. I highly recommend this place and cannot imagine another lodge offering a better experience. Thank you and congratulations to all involved in making this such a wonderful place.

My wife and I just returned from a seven night stay at Monwana Game Lodge in the Thornybush Reserve. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite which was a real treat. We had an incredible experience. The food and wine were amazing. Ryan Fulton is a real professional when it comes to the game drives/tracking and his knowledge of the bush and Karen was a superb host (warm or cool towels after games drives, accompanied by a sherry or Amarula!). Its those kind of personal touches that really made our stay at Monwana very special.

Room Tip: The Honeymoon Suite is highly recommended.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Monwana Game Lodge and had an amazing experience. The staff, Neil, Christi, and the others, were fantastic in making sure everything was perfect for us. The lodge far exceeded our expectations! The honeymoon suite was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We watched many animals from the comfort of our own porch! Neil was very knowledgeable on all our game drives which included amazing game viewing! We would highly recommend this lodge!

I visited the Lodge Monwana in Thornybush a couple of times before and I'm still coming back. What do I have to say more....If you prefer a real warm private atmosphere, magnificent game viewing and very nice prepared food you are on the right spot!! This small lodge has five wonderful spacious suites, beautifully furnished and all with a view on the water pond where you can see giraffes, impala's, warthog's, a lonely buffalo or even - if you are lucky - a leopard. The last time I visited Monwana with five other people, they were very impressed about the personal warmth of the staff and the professionalism of the ranger and tracker.
Monwana is the beautiful undiscovered sister of Serondella. Till next time!

My sons and I just returned from South Africa. We visited Cape Town and Joburg, and spent four glorious days at the Monwana Game Lodge in the Thornybush Reserve, Kruger National Park. The accommodations and food were were world class. Our ranger, Ryan Fulton, was a consummate "Bush Professional." His knowledge base, commitment, passion and professionalism were unparalleled. And he was friendly, smart, courteous...a true gentleman. The hostess, Karen, was a consummate resort/hospitality professional. She was very attentive to detail, friendly, smart, sweet, and thorough. Our tracker, Brian, and our Barman, Valentine, were excellent. We saw the "Big Five," as well as at least 20 other species of glorious wildlife in their natural habitat. It was fantastic. We also experienced a once in a life time event: a kill! We are looking forward to returning to South Africa, a fascinating and rich country across a myriad of dimensions, and Monwana Lodge.

For the second time this year we had the privilege of staying a few nights in this amazing place.
The game viewing run by Ryan is top class, but the service of Karen and her staff is out of this world, she knows how to spoil you and still giving you that feeling you'r at home.

Room Tip: any room will do , but the honey moon is extra special.

We stayed at Monwana lodge for a weekend in September 2011. This was an unforgeteble experience! The Honeymoon suite was beautiful with an excellent view from the suite. The hospitality of Karen and her staff was from the highest quality. They treat us like VIP people. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Ryan and our tracker, Aubrey, were also incredible and went out of their way to make every game drive unforgeteble. They are experts in their field and we learned a lot about the bush from them. Ryan always considered our needs and asked what animals we want to track on the drives. We wish we could be on the game drive throughout the day. It was awesome to be surrounded by the buffalo herd and to watch the elephants from nearby. We want to recommend Monwana lodge to anyone who likes to spend time in the bush. Monwana Lodge, we want to go back and experience more of your excellent service! Thank you again. Blessings! Rassie and Ansie
