Our trip to Monwana was an amazing experience. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms have great view on all that comes to visit. We had nyalas just wondering through the camp, vervet monkeys drinking from the pool and lots of other wild animals drinking from the dam just outside the perimeter. We had great drives with Jacques, our guide, and his tracker. We saw lots of animals and they all looked so healthy! The service of Jacques and Emma during our stay was great, no critics whatsoever. Great food too!! Our stay was in one word amazing :)

We had the most wonderful time at Monwana from the time we arrived till the time we left. Which was due to Jaques , Emma and their wonderful team. The accommodation and hospitality were first class, Emma made you feel so welcome, and was the perfect hostess, Jaques and Morris made our safari experience one we will never forget, due to their skills we managed to see the super seven in the three days that we stayed there. Mapule the chef served us the most wonderful meals everyday , every meal was a dining experience. Valentine saw to our every needs behind the bar and our sundowners drinks which he packed in the landrover every night for our evening safari. I only wished that we booked a longer stay as I did not want to go when it came to leave. Sorcha and Steve Saudi Arabia

We had 3 nights in the honeymoon suite 23-26 Jan,a huge room, and plenty of other space off it.We would not recommend less than 3 nights as the early starts and evening safaris do take it out of you so you do need some down time in between.Emma and Jaques, the hosts, are right in touch with what clients want, and the rest of the staff could not be more accommodating, they are ambassadors for the country.A real heaven on earth. The food was some of the best we had
over our whole S.Africa experience.A good selection of drinks at more than reasonal prices(Gin 10R!!)Don't forget binocculars, and fly in to Hoedspruit rather than a 5 hour bus drive if you travel from J'burg.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and have the honeymoon suite with private deck and views over the river bed and water...

Fantastic stay from the moment we arrived to the sound of drums and a warm welcome from Emma and the Monwana team. The game drives were fantastic and we saw all the big five plus much more. Food was exceptional with meals giving a good chance to mix with other guests. Enjoyed every minute of our stay and would strongly recommend this to anyone.

If you want an amazing African experience you cannot go past Monwana Lodge. This was my second time at the lodge (I was there two years ago with my family), and due to the fact I enjoyed my last experience so much, I wanted to take my partner who was in Africa for the first time.

The food is great, the people are great, the facilities are great - the exceptional Monwana product gives you a true African experience but is also highly polished and comfortable. The well maintained and equipped units face a waterhole which is a game watchers haven allowing you to sit there and take in the African scenery whilst sipping on wine.

The food was the best I've had over my whole trip in Africa - kudu fillets and ostrich steaks were some of the highlights. All meals are prepared by an excellent chef and made to order. Although the lodge is located deep in the reserve, the food is always fresh and tasty.

We were also lucky to share our stay with some amazing couples who also enjoyed their experience. Ryan and Karen were just exceptional, they love the bush and they love giving their guests a personal and intimate experience. Ryan is an excellent ranger and over the days we stayed we saw all of the big five (highlight being the tracking and viewing of Twinspot, the leopard and her cubs) and seeing the elephants frolic in the waterhole whilst enjoying breakfast.

I look forward to my next Monwana experience!

Room Tip: The rooms are all excellent however, the rooms on the right have large flowing decks.

This was our first experience in Africa and our expectations were more than exceeded. The lodge, staff, food, service, accomodations and the safari drives were all fantastic. We subsequently went to Moremi Crossing, Chobe Safari Lodge and Zambezi Sun, but can still rank the experience here at Monwana as superb. Didn't see leopard, but did see lion having lunch, cheetahs, elephants, porcupine, impala, girrafes, jackal, brown snake eagle, vulture, cape buffalo, zebras and so many other animals/creatures. Each safari drive was an adventure and going back to the lodge was always a treat, literally and figureatively speaking. Food was made to order and the menu was always creatively well prepared. Accomodations were spacious and luxiourious. Could not ask for more.

My husband and I along with friends spent two nights at Monwana and wish we could have stayed more! Karen, Ryan and Jeffery made us feel right at home. The small nature of this property is what makes it so special. There were only 9 of us the first night and 8 the next. This allows you to get to know the other guests as well as being able to chat with our hosts. Very relaxing, beautiful pool and great food. Ryan and Jeffery made our safari drives very memorable, especially when we finally found "Marvin" the male lion of the pride. We will never forget out experience at Monwana!
