From arrival to departure from Umlani the staff were incredible. Happy all the time and helpful and on top of their game. An absolute pleasure to experience. The rooms are stunning and comfortable. Food, breakfasts, lunch and suppers were outstanding - compliments to the chefs. Our stay overall was truly one for our books and we have recommended and will recommenUmlani to anyone and everyone. We did not expect to see not even half of the animals that we did. Learned a lot from rangers and guides etc. Will be back. Five stars

Our family's 3 night stay at Umlani was magical. It's a beautiful bush camp, but not over done. The rooms were beautiful, food spectacular and wildlife sightings amazing. David and the rest of the staff there are so warm and accommodating. They're like a big family which makes it a very special place. We loved it so much that we drove 5 hours back there (after a week in Kruger) to spend our last two nights there! We just couldn't stay away. Hopefully we'll get back there again soon. We would highly recommend Umlani to anyone traveling in the Timbavati/Kruger Park area.

It's refreshing to find such a simple and down-to-earth experience. At a time when most lodges are trying to outcompete each other for "The Most Glamorous" award, Umlani is quietly providing an authentic and genuine bushcamp experience to its many happy visitors.

I really love the fact that each and every member of the team puts enthusiasm and effort into making guests feel welcome and at home. Taking me out to sit at their "tree house" after lunch and enjoy the quiet of the bush was just one of the special touches, and they really made the extra effort when they could have just as easily gone for a siesta.

The game viewing was incredible and the large area of shared traversing meant we were able to see good sightings as the guides communicate between each other, while also keeping the number of vehicles at a sighting to a maximum of two.

Thanks to all for a unforgettable visit. I look forward to returning soon, this time for a minimum of three nights as one night was simply not enough.

Umlani Camp was part of an 11 day tour, so we didn't pick this camp it was choosen for us. What an excellent chose. All the umlani family were beautiful people. Starting from Timbi who greeted us at the start and looked after every request. To Ruth and all her wonderful helpers in the kitchen. Amazing food. Ginger and Derek did a wonderful job on the game drives. We couldn't miss one. Entertainment and amazing experinence. During our stay it was great to catch up with owners and managers so we were able to express our gratitude toward them in person. (Marcos, David, Gavin) I am really sorry if i left anyone out, but the whole family were amazing. The rooms clean and comfortable, and i liked the no power. We came away looking for an african experience. We didnt need phones or computers. Well done to all. We will be back, as soon as we can.

Room Tip: It wouldn't matter which room you got. You will still have a wonderful stay

We stayed at Umlani for 4 nights and took part in the daily safari drives. No matter what I say, it won't be enough to show my appreciation for the amazing experience we had there. The guides who took us out were so very knowledgable and went out of their way to make sure we saw the Big 5. Despite what some people may think, the animals are not just waiting for tourists to drive by and see them. It takes a lot of work from the guides to understand and track the animals and Umlani guides (particularly Ginger) are very dedicated to their job. We went out each morning as well as each evening. The meals were wonderful and the staff treated us like old friends. The evening sundowner drink while on safari was a favourite of mine. The bush huts we stayed in are a wonderful experience of their own and if you haven't ever showered in an outdoor shower, this is the place to do it. If you want the experience and feel of a safari but not feel like you're camping, this is the place to do it. This was one of the most relaxing, inspiring and special experiences I have ever had.
