“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014

We spent 3 nights at Bayethe Tented Camp and were thrilled with the accommodation. The "tents" are a traveller's delight with many luxury features. Although I didn't care to brave the outdoor shower, my husband did and loved it! The staff are extremely friendly and service-orientated. My only criticism would be that the High Tea was just a few eats on a cake stand - this definitely needs to be improved. Our ranger, Frans was outstanding in his care for us, his exceptional 4X4 skills and his knowledge of the bush and animals. We had an amazing experience and would love to return some day

We spent a wonderful 3 days at this game reserve. It was an experience of a lifetime. We saw the Big 5, wild animals you good nearly touch. The accommodation was first class, wonderful staff & superb meals. Go there. Best holiday you will have. Brendan & Mary

We stayed at the Riverdene Lodge for 3 nights & had 6 game drives.
Our game driver was Jay Jay & he was brilliant, lots of knowledge & made our drives fantastic.
The staff at the lodge were all very friendly & helpful
As we were the only guests for two of the nights the service was even better & they really looked after us.
The lodge was situated on the reserve so perfect to start the drives from your back garden.
The pool was great but as its winter in South Africa we didn't spend more than a quick dip in there!!
Would definitely recommend the lodge & safari

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Bayethe lodge and had a wonderful time on our honeymoon. This is by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The warm welcome from all the staff who were so helpful and friendly. Our game ranger was Mino who was just incredible, so knowledgeable and passionate about his field of expertise. The food was excellent with a great selection every meal, it was nice that we could choose to eat as a couple or as a group. Our group was fantastic! The room was so spacious, we upgraded to a superior tent (which is not even remotely a tent!) with an outside shower, huge bathtub, his and hers sinks, separate toilet, log fire, massive double bed, lounge area and dressing area with views to die for. The sun uppers and sun dowers which are all included in the price were fantastic. There is nothing bad to say about this place and I hope we can go again in our lifetime!

We stayed for a couple of nights at the Bayethe lodge and had a wonderful time. Rooms were spacious, with all amenities you could seek for and at the same time in touch with the surrounding environment. This is the closest you can get to staying in a tent in the wilderness while enjoying the luxury of a 5 star hotel.

Food was excellent, the staff always ready to assist with anything we might need and our ranger Roger was very knowledgable and happy to answer all of our questions. Though expensive, it is definitely value for money.

My husband and I stayed at Bayethe Tented Camp in October 2013. Everything about this place is absolutely fastastic. We have travelled extensively including other places in Africa and Bayethe is our favourite place so far. The "tents" were gorgeous. Beautifully decorated with a full luxurious bathroom (indoor tub and outdoor shower). Colourful flower petals were placed around the room on a daily basis (one flower on each folded towel even!). I am quite picky and often hard to please, but this resort paid exceptional attention to even the smallest detail. We had our own private plunge pool on our deck overlooking the bushveld. It was all very private and we felt like we were alone in the African bush (but never unsafe). The food was excellent and varied. Better than most restaurants we have been to. Our ranger, Richard, was out of this world. He was so knowledgeable and fun. After many years at the job, he was just as exicted as we were to watch a cheetah chase or find the leopard we had been searching for. He ate meals with our small group as well which was a great touch and a good way to get to know what life there is really like. Game viewing was awesome. We saw everything we had set out to see and more. Richard went out of his way to find every animal that our group wanted to see so that no one left feeling they had missed something. The safari vehichles were very comfortable. Each guest had their own warm blanket and rain poncho in a cubby beside them if needed (the temperature varied widely during our stay and we went from shorts and t shirts to jackets and gloves). There was always a hot drink and warm towel waiting for us after game drives. We even got cookies in the shape of elephants to tide us over on our trip back to the airport. I cannot recommend this place more highly. Definitely the highlight of our trip to South Africa.

The gamedrives were amazing. We saw to different groups of lions eating prey, cheeta´s eating prey ,black rhino, white rhino, cape leopard+++ We must have been very lucky! If you didn´t know you would not be able to tell if you are in Kruger ore Shamwari on the game drives. The food was excellent and the service first class.
We stayed at Bayethe and the "tents" are great and spacious although perhaps a bit cold this time of year.. If it is your first real safari experience I would recommend Bayethe , but if you have done it before Eagles Craig may be a better alternative due to better position (shorter drives) for gamedrives and Wifi in the rooms.
