“B&B in El Paso area”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

This is the only B&B in the El Paso area. We like to stay at B&Bs, rather than motels and hotels as much as possible. They usually have more comfortable beds, much nice indoor and outdoor spaces and are cleaner than hotels and motels. In addition they usually have better food than most restaurants. Casa de Suenos was wonderful in all those areas.

Comfortable bed, very nice outdoor space, good breakfast. Location has very nice view of El Paso and the mountains.

The only bad part was the mile and a half of gravel road to get there.

Spent 5 days and four nights at the Casa de Suenos Country Inn. The place was everything we had hoped for and then some. The food was excellent, the area peaceful, the ambiance outstanding. Thanks so much for a peaceful, relaxing stay. This is the rugged southwest at its finest.

Room Tip: All the rooms have little patios off their separate entrance. This place is not in town (my prefere...

At the end of a rough road and after a day of driving through dust storms, we reached this charming and comfortable B&B. Even though it was windy, we were still able to relax on lawn chairs outside because there is a walled courtyard as well as a large patio facing the mountains. In addition, our room had its own little private patio. The hosts, George and Marlene were welcoming and had lots of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. They were willing to serve breakfast at any hour and what a breakfast it was, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, a delicious hot entree, toast and coffee. At $95 a night this has to be the best value in all of New Mexico.

We chose to stay here rather than a chain hotel on our way back to El Paso from a trip to Mexico. We could not have been more pleased with our choice. The inn is located about a 25 minute drive from the airport in a beautiful and tranquil part of the city. The inn is exceptionally well appointed, with great views of a number of the surrouning mountains. There are several patios and other communal areas where you can relax and enjoy either the vistas of the quiet of the area. We stayed in the Kokopeli suite, which was large and nicely furnished. The owners George and Marlene could not have been more accommodating, even bringing freshly brewed coffee to our room at 6 am. Breakfast was a gourmet feast that kept us full the rest of the day--fruit, homemade cinnamon bread, eggs with sauted vegetables, guacamole and salsa, and bacon. We were also given advice on nearby restaurants, choosing to eat at Jimmy Crew's, a nearby steakhouse (great steaks and wine, somewhat weird atmosphere).

The only downside of the inn is that it is currently for sale, so no telling how much longer visitors will have the joy of experiencing the current great hospitality. As one previous reviewer said, the new owners will certainly have large shoes to fill. Clearly an exceptional B&B in comparison to many others that I have visited. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a perfect place to stay..and who doesn't, right? Was greeted by George and Marlene and what great hosts they are..they are so helpful, accomodating, and such a warm hearted couple that I didn't want to leave. This place is superbly decorated, the view magnificent, and the tranquility found here is supreme. It also was not difficult to find, super simple, even though it is located off the beaten path (which makes it that much more special). I hope to be back again sometime in the furture when I make my way through New Mexico again. Thanks for all of your hospitality George and Marlene!

Our last two nights at the end of a New Mexico holiday could not have been more perfect. A charming inn, tucked out of the way at the end of one of the worst washboarded dirt roads I have travelled, looking out across a wide valley to El Paso, visited by swarms of hummingbirds, road runners, other birds. Sophisticated, welcoming, graceful hosts, highly knowledgeable about the area, freely offering the stylish facilities of their inn. Breakfast was superb at the start of the day, the evening view of the sunset-illuminated mountains enjoyed with a beer at the end of the day was very memorable. You need to make plans about dinner - there is a small kitchen where you can microwave or heat up brought in food. The alternative is to eat out a long way away, make your way home in the dark and miss the evening experience. We stayed two nights and perhaps we didn't find the best arrangement. But by that time at the end of a long holiday in New Mexico and just before the transatlantic flight home we were content to eat simply, relax and enjoy the evening. Highly recommended. Note: the B&B is up for sale, with the hosts having to face deteriorating health in a rather remote location, and the plan is to sell as a going concern. The location and the basic structure of the inn won't change but the new owners will have a lot to live up to to match the extra experience given to guests by the present hosts. I hope they find a new owner who can carry on at the very high standard they have established.

After taking business trips to El Paso for 3 years, I decided I was tired of the high hotel prices and also just "tired" so I wanted something more relaxing for the next trip. On the internet I found Casa de Suenos Country Inn. The pictures looked great but I have learned you can't always count on "pictures". What a wonderful surprise!! The lower price did not mean lower quality. In fact my stay was the most pleasant I have had in 3 years. I always stay at Hilton's or Marriotts and this was so much better. The trip from the airport was easy and short. Directions on the B&B website were easy. Marlene, the owner along with her husband George, gave great directions for a short-cut over the mountains to make it to my work day (30 minutes). I can't begin to say enough about the comfort of the room, the beauty of the Inn, the great breakfasts, and the company of Marlene and George. They make you feel like family from the moment you enter the door. With the Texas drought and heat, my porch sitting in the evenings have been non-existent, however even with hot days in El Paso, it was pleasant to sit on the patio at night and watch the stars and lights of El Paso in the distance. An extra treat was doing the same in the mornings while George fixed a breakfast fit for a queen. By the way, business travels, just tell George what time you need to eat and he will make it happen. I sometimes miss the hotel breakfast because it is not set up at the time I need to leave. There is so much more to tell but suffice it to say, I made my reservations for future business trips before I left for the airport. Marlene and Goerge, "I'll be back"!!!

Room Tip: Wheelchair accessible: no stairs that I saw & wide doors. Ask Marlene & George, they are so...
