This historical venue was at first a home in the early 1900s and the family started to add casitas to accommodate visitors. And that's just how we felt....at home, welcomed and treated like company. We were fortunate to stay in one of the older casitas with thick adobe walls and a fireplace. The owners have taken great care to keep the place in working order while maintaining some of the older charm of the place. There was great wi-fi reception and enough outlets for our electronic gadgets. 'Loopy', the breakfast hostess went out of her way to accommodate our group and was cheerful, friendly and so hospitable. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for one night on Labor Day weekend based on all the glowing reviews on this website. It certainly was quaint. But for the large amount I paid for the room, I expected more. The room was in need of a good dusting, and smelled like a campfire due to the, albeit cute, southwestern fireplace in the room. The shower turned hot cold. The breakfast was touted to be wonderful, but I thought it was just a regular old continental breakfast. The staff were all very nice and the grounds well kept, but I do not feel like I got my money's worth.

I normally am not one to do reviews but our stay at El Pueblo Lodge August 2014 was amazing! The grounds were so clean and cheery filled with bright art and beautiful flowers and a chair at every corner! The staff going above and beyond and Loopy at breakfast was just awesome! The room did take you back in time but was updated to fit the needs of today and immaculately clean! We travel with Coal, our Schnoodle, and he was welcomed and treated just like the family he is ! We enjoyed staying there so much, we booked two more nights! Pam and David G and Coal

Our first stay was a few years back when our room still had a complete kitchen...last stay a few days ago (in August 2014). We have seen quite a few changes but it has always been clean, friendly and welcomed our dogs. Our rooms have always been lovely and super clean...the housekeeping and yard staff are the best..and there is a lovely lady in the serving area that is precious. The office folks are very friendly and helpful and they have great home-made cookies around 3:00..We will continue to stay with them as long as we are able and God is willing(in our 80's now).

Room Tip: Our favorites are the rooms with patios on the ground floor. There are several outdoor cooking faci...

We stayed here in August. Booking.com messed up our reservation, but the staff here offered us a condo instead. Very nice accommodations. Very friendly staff. Quaint place and clean too, planning a return visit in December.

This is a great place to stay. The two rooms we stayed in were clean and comfortable. Room 121 had some minor issues with floor plan and the door lock but room 107 was great, no complaints. We walked to most of the places we wanted to go. Breakfast is very good. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The courtyard off the main building is fabulous! We will definitely be back!

After reading the reviews, I booked El Pueblo for a one night stopover on our way to California. Given the brevity of our visit, I reserved the least expensive room which was a more than adequate queen. The furnishings seemed authentic, the room was clean, there was plenty of space for our belongings and the fridge was nice to have. Unlike some others on here, we didn't care for the breakfast but then I don't care for most American hotel breakfasts. I don't know about staying here for a long stay but for a night or two it fits the bill!
