Very nice find in the John Dunn Shops on Bent Street in Taos. A group of friends, exhibiting their own handmade arts and craft items. The gallery has been in existence for 15 years and member artists change occasionally. There are beautiful contemporary paintings of the breathtaking local landscape, exceptional tin work, very fine small, framed quilt art, really good photography accomplished glass art and so much more. The artists run the gallery themselves, are most welcoming and give helpful information on all the work there. Love my purchase of a painting.
A place not to be missed on visits to Taos.

This gallery has an array of high-quality pieces in a variety of media, from photography to paintings to jewelery. The artists are highly skilled in their crafts, and you are likely to meet one of them when you go in, since it is a cooperative. The work tends to be reflective of New Mexico and the Taos area. There is something for every budget. I visit every time I am in the area.

Las Comadres is probably the oldest artists cooperative in New Mexico. There's a reason for that. The artists have to be juried into the gallery and the ones currently represented are a quality bunch. A visit here offers prospective collectors an opportunity to purchase art directly from the artists, because they staff the gallery on a rotating basis. Particularly noteworthy is the work of painter Donna Caulton, whose subject matter is mandalas of the natural order. Her colorful acrylic paintings are filled with wonderful wildlife and references to nature's cycles. The art is affotrdable, and unlike so much that passes for art now, it can be hung in homes and businesses. Worth a visit.

This is such a wonderful little gallery. It just sparkles when you enter. It has art by Taos area women and each one has special talents. The group is small but the work is well displayed and excellent in quality. I recommend you make a point to go there when in Taos.

This women's cooperative gallery is full of beautiful original fine art and arts and crafts. In my opinion, the prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and relaxed. In fact, the gallery is staffed by the artists themselves so you get the rare opportunity to actually speak with the artist, all of whom are women.
