If you are in the taos area, dont miss this. Its only 15-20 minutes drive from taos downtown. You need to park your car and walk onto the bridge. There are two viewing areas in the middle of the bridge. You will get a great view of the gorge. Its absolutely gorgeous.
In the parking area, there were local people selling homemade stuff. Its worth spending some time over there. You will get a nice rustic feel.

“definitely worth the drive”

Spectacular views up and down stream, about 600 feet from the bridge to the Rio Grande. Great views of the mountains to the East. Go later in the day for best light.

“Good views”

If you like views from this bridge to deep below, this is worth visiting. The river snakes below the bridge and looks so far below it. Not a place for someone afraid of heights, though I enjoyed it. You can get some nice snaps here, particularly as the sun is going down in the late afternoon. I was advised not to buy anything from vendors here, as you can't be sure that it's genuine (not that I planned to anyway). Also I believe vendors are banned here, so they may be in infraction of the rules by setting up stalls here.

Yes it is a Gorge - long way down. Loads of hippie junk jewlery and assorted crap to wade thru on the way to the gorge. New Mexico really knows how to junk it up.
