Description: Lambert's of Taos is a family-owned full service, upscale establishment serving Contemporary American cuisine with northern New Mexican influences in an elegant but relaxed setting. We are one of the few establishments in town that serves cocktails in addition to beer and wine. Upstairs we have the Treehouse Bar and Lounge for those not in the mood for linen tablecloths and looking for a cool, classy, and eclectic hangout with well-versed bartenders and inviting prices. During our Happy Hour (2:30 - 6:00), everything on our Happy Hour menu is $6.

The food was good, but not exceptional. Though small the menu was certainly adequate and the service was good, but not particularly attentive. Do make reservations because it is a popular restaurant near the plaza.

Had the halibut and the steak dinners. Both were very well prepared and presented. Atmosphere was casual. Service was attentive. The heritage tomato salad was a good start.

In a word, unimpressive. I would recommend the desserts and wine but nothing more. For appetizers we had the lamb Wellington, and mussels and were disappointed. The entree portion of our meal was slightly worse. The duck was executed poorly, the fat was not rendered in the least and the buffalo although cooked well, was uninspired. The one bright spot was dessert, we had the caramel sundae with a shortbread cookie that was wonderful. If you go, enjoy the upstairs bar, get a dessert but consider another establishment for dinner.

Just overnight in Taos and had a beautiful meal at Lamberts. The service is impeccable...the ambience is calm, uncluttered and low key. The stacked blue corn chicken enchiladas were amazing though the portion was easily enough for 2...the beef stroganoff was excellent as well and the berry cobbler with house made vanilla ice cream was sublime. Finally, I guess I'm a coffee snob...we live in Alaska and are happy to have one of the best coffee roasters in the country but our after dinner coffee was every bit as good. Highly recommended! We will certainly be back.

Taos lacks the quantity and quality of choices of restaurants that Santa Fe boasts, but Lambert's, on Bent Street is definitely a true contender. The cozy, southwestern minimalist interior is comfortable and fitting for northern New Mexico. The wait staff were professional and on point and made us feel as though we were old friends. The food was exceptional and artfully presented. We started with the toasted almond baked brie (excellent). For entrees, I had the mango chutney enchiladas (spicy and delicious) and my fiance had the filet mignon (she declared it outstanding). For dessert, she had the ice cream sundae (amazing) and I had the coconut cake (ditto). There are some very good restaurants in Taos, but if I were you, I would put Lambert's at the top my list.
