We went with friends who wanted to try Doc Martins and, although they had been to Taos several times, had never been before. Quite frankly, it didn't live up to its reputation. The food was average quality (my wife's buffalo ribs had virtually no taste and my salmon was unexceptional), the wine list was huge but very pricey, and the menu was expensive even by Washington DC and New York standards. We had asked to be near the music entertainment, but were placed far away, and the place was so noisy you couldn't hear the entertainment much less your dinner companions. My recommendation: skip Doc Martines, go to Graham's Grille across the street instead. You'll have a much better meal for substantially less.
